Can anyone recommend either a cell phone or tablet available to buy locally (no online orders or shipping, has to be available in a store here-preferred, or in Cebu) that has the following features? Keyboard built in-I don't like touchscreens Easy to use, intuitive. Good battery life Good reputation for being reliable. Ability to easily add data to user phone number entries and to search them. No Windoze OS-Android with easy to add software. Something that comes closest to a non-locked notebook would be cool, but I want it small enough to easily carry in a small backpack Thanks.
There are not many cell phones with build-in keyboards available. For tablets the keyboard is sold separately. There are no tablets with build-in keyboards. And if you want a tablet with keyboard then you can look also for netbooks. Dunno if there are Blackberry cell phones with keyboards available in DGT. Or check for the LG Xpression 2. There are other LG cell phones with QWERTY keyboards available. Here is an article with even more models.
I guess the guy who wrote the following article did not know that Top tablets with keyboards Unfortunately I do not know where any of these are available in Dumaguete but obviously they ARE available.
I doubt you will find a tablet with built in keyboard in Dumaguete. Your best bet may be to purchase a Bluetooth wireless keyboard for your tablet. CD-R King used to have them, not sure if they still do.
Your best bet is to go to Cebu and look around the malls. They are going to have a wider selection and you will be able to try them out there.
Yeah I forgot to add the laptops with tablet function or the convertibles. I thought primary about if there is a tablet available with a slide out keyboard similar to many cell phones.
Which is this then? I would have said (and so would Samsung) that it is a tablet with a keyboard. To the opening poster, if you want one of these you could try taking the picture to any shop that sells Samsung tablets and asking where you can buy it.
These types of tablets with keyboards I did mentioned already: Most of the keyboards to standard tablets are sold separately. When getting a convertible the keyboard is included.
You won't find such really here in Dumaguete besides Apple or possibly at Algorithm looking more at the hybrid tablet/netbooks like Dave mentioned. They aren't true tablets but also not true netbooks. You won't find them at any of the average type of places here as they will run outside the budget of locals compared to a straight tablet and most have no issue with tablet touch keyboards. If you don't want Apple and Algorithm doesn't have anything (highly doubt the Robinsons Samsung shop has anything unless you order) you best head off to Cebu. You'll be looking at Samsung, Apple, and Microsoft (maybe Acer and Asus as well). Asus Zenpad 10 looks great but unsure of its availability yet in the Philippines or if any other Asus tablets have built in keyboards.
