    I know of someone who did this but I think there is a risk attached (the particular immigration officer not being willing to issue a BB as it is at their discretion) - best, if possible, to take advantage of the air fares paid (as spouse has to come*) and have a few days holiday.

    * Not a suggestion that anyone would NOT wish to take their spouse with them, just that a quick 'in and out' would not require a spouse if not for the need to get a BB on re-entry. And apologies for the double entendres.

    My answer: I did it here in the Philippines at the end of 2016. No Questions about income only, if our marriage is a happy one.

    Got it. You were not asked to show proof of financial capacity, a requirement which is apparently at the discretion of officials.

    I was not asked for proof of financial capacity or Police clearance from my country. Just showed my passport with the BB stamp, that was May 2017.

    Was there any other documentation required, such as wife’s PSA certified birth certificate, certified marriage certificate, phils NBI clearance, anything like that? If you were married in a foreign country, did you have to get it notarized at their embassy in the Phils? There seems to be a wide variance. Great you didn’t have to get a home country police clearance and get that notarized at your embassy here. That is impressive. Getting a 13a was very easy for you. Maybe they have changed.
