I dont know if somebody else wrote about that: I just have seen, that the old and small Office of BI in DGT burned down, also the TIMES Shop beside. I hope that not so much people had their Passport there for Renewal the Visa!
I know Times Mercantile burnt the other day. The BI was unaffected as far as I know. This sounds like someone's wishful thinking got onto the Bamboo Telegraph.
** from the press; DUMAGUETE — Two business establishments located along Dr. V. Locsin Street here were razed by a fire of still unknown origin early morning Wednesday. Gutted down by the fire are the Times Mercantile, one of the oldest establishments in the city; and Parlem’s Collections of RTWs (ready to wear). *** these buildings are about 5 away from the BI Full report; You are being redirected... but I tend to think that it was a close call, Time they moved BI to Robinsons in the now Unused office of the LTO next to the DFA on the 2nd Floor
Never happen, too brilliant... hadn't thought of that...better parking... but too much work, hell, i'd volunteer to help move files...
I have just seen it didn't. No, I mean literally just "seen". As I walked by and had a look. There was a building that burned to the ground and there was a huge concrete firewall on either side of it, so the buildings beside it escaped serious damage. The building that houses the BI is on the "good" side of the firewall. No damage.
SORRY, to me it looked just that everything was damaged! Didnt see the firewall! So everything is fine and the Office has a better place now in Robinson's!
So, all of the stacks and stacks and stacks of paperwork are ok? I always wondered how they ever found anything in there!!
Believe it or not they can actually find things in those huge piles. Several years ago my wife and I were at BI Intermuros to get my 13a visa. They wanted a copy of the receipt from my last tourist visa renewal. BI Dumaguete faxed a copy to Manila in short order. I was impressed that BI Dumaguete was so helpful.
