Would be nice if filtered images were banned on dating sites. Far to often you look at the picture and then meet in person and you think you were really scammed. Its not a little photoshop touch-up of a few blemishes or that pimple your shy of but looking completely different. Just like the 2 posted pictures of before/after if I was shown the after picture and the before showed up I wouldn't recognize her and likely walk away not because I think she is hideous but because I would feel I couldn't trust her. But I guess when it comes to it women should get a *looks* expiration date stamped on them because often when meet they look great but soon as they feel secure and comfortable things quickly change.
For whatever reason this topic reminded me of an article I read not long back about a woman being dumped by her BF because she packed on tons of weight and he had given up after years of trying to get her to work on it while she continued to blood. The articles always state that to spite her ex BF after breaking up with her for her weight she goes on a diet and loses a lot of weight getting back a sexy body. Of course always spun for the feminist view but maybe if she had simply cared about things when with the guy things would have been better. Common female logic. Sorry if a bit off topic. Just comes down to hard to trust women in general :p
Soft focus normally shows a kind of blurry image while filters intensely edits a lot like smoothening those wrinkles, adding eyelashes, more pronounced “contouring”,etc. like in the case of stage make up. It reminds me of drag queens and I personally admire their artistry. Back to the scam issue, I wonder how they get away from it? Based on experience, the guy eventually ask if you have a webcam! (Yep, no face time yet during my time)
My experience was contrary to this. I was told: You don’t have to wear make up, you’re already pretty. I was pissed off, I said, why now? why didn’t you tell me that when we first met? This defines me and there wouldn’t have been a second date if you did tell me you don’t like it. We agreed that he sets the time we leave so I could I figure out when to start painting my face. He never complained again.
Scamming is "banned" on dating websites but that doesn't stop anyone. The vast majority of users never bother to read through the rules/terms of service anyway. Wouldn't do any good. Makeup is mostly for women to show off to other women. Most men I have known prefer women without the clown face being worn.
1. I think this applies equally to men. 2. Relationships may be better if we all stop focusing only on looks.
