What's the speed and ping time to servers outside of the Philippines?

That is what I got. I'm on the 1899p 20Mbps plan. Comes up 20.6Mbps down, 10.8Mbps up, and 193ms to Los Angeles. During peak time its still rocking hard. I'm in Bagacay near Hypermart.

If your over 500M they say they can't accomadate you and remember that is as the power line flows.

Your ping need some improvement compared with the test result of DavyL200; did you notice?

I love your upload speed. Do they throttle it on torrent sites? Some torrent sites demand seeding as part of the membership for the free downloads.

So not good enough for gaming with that ping time? (I suppose it depends on the type of game; turn based games would be fine but any type of shooting game would have some serious lag.)

If you use a VPN they won't know you are on a torrent site.

Good enough for online gaming other then shooters unless your connecting to a Philippines server. I've been online gaming for years with 200-350ms but when it reaches 400+ other online games start to struggle bad. I play MMORPG's except their hasn't been any good ones in years so I hop around a lot.

As far as downloading torrents it may be throttled a bit but not by much. I can still download a well seeded 2 hour movie torrent at 1.8Gigs in about 20 minutes. I do have a VPN but rarely every use it for downloading as the Philippines just doesn't care enough to do anything.

Interesting. I just went to Fil Products to order and sign the contract for cable and internet at our new house in Valencia. They put me on their new fiber plan; the neighborhood here is transitioning to fiber and I might be among the first as I am a new installation. They tell me it is FTTH, I’m not sure I believe they will actually install fiber right up to the house. Anyway, the highest plan they have, at least in my area, is 10mbps. Again, that is with fiber. For the Phils, 10mbps is pretty good and a great connection might be 20mbps. I am used to thinking of 10mbps as the old copper ADSL connection. Copper could push up to maybe 100mbps. Then comes fiber. ATT in the USA runs about 250mbps and some companies supply gigabit over fiber these days. Our neighbor South Korea really gets up there with 7 gigabytes or so, much better than the USA. But I am getting PREMIUM fiber at copper DSL speeds. Non-premium Fil Products speeds are as low as 2mbps which is 1st generation DSL. Well, as long as it is reliable, I don’t care so much high MB or GB speeds except that we might need at least 6mbps to view Netflix, Hulu and other streaming sites. I am surprised at the relatively slow speeds ww can expect with fiber. It may be a case of modernizing the transmission hardware but not improving the speed.
