Although I defer to our resident expert, Professor Sir Dr Ski, to provide detailed information, I supply basic information about the Perseid meteor shower due to reach a peak Sunday night/Monday morning: "On the late evening hours of August 12, the peak of the Perseid meteor shower will start as it will grace the sky with more than 50 meteors per hour until early morning of August 13, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on its bulletin." Until Dr Ski says otherwise, my advice if wondering where to look is >>>>>> UP!
While I acknowledge Dr Ski's acquaintance with the sky, I wonder about his expertise. That comes from a belief that a "Ski" person would be looking down the hill, at the ground while a "Sky" person would be looking up at the sky. Unless the "skier" was not an expert, landed on his back, and ended up admiring the beautiful stars. We shall have to hope that the good Dr Ski explains that one day.
Good point - perhaps he photo-shopped all his wonderful pics! Often he has made the point that being outside (PURPORTING to be star-gazing) permits him to consume large amounts of beer whilst as he says "allowing my eyes to accustom to the dark". When you think about it, that must be just about the best excuse ever given (as he could just CLOSE his eyes whilst indoors!) - other than those who say they do it just to get p*ssed.
