You might post here what you need or what your problem is. We do have some computer expertise in this forum.

I used Antonio Ramirez, he works/worked for TechnoMart at Robinsons near Globe. He has his own business now, too: Maffant's IT Solutions. #09269526176. Nice guy, he will come to your house, and he is very affordable.

thanks, hawk and okiebound, for the technician references and thanks for asking what the problem is, dude.

    in a nutshell:
i have two computers; one a 15 year old vaio laptop that i currently use for backup and a 6 year old DIY desk top that is my main machine.

both computers had similar, intermittent symptoms; won't boot completely, boots with no mouse or keyboard or any usb device that's plugged in, computer doesn't recognize this and that (usb), takes 5 minutes or more to boot and another time, takes less than one minute.

three different technicians have worked on the machines and all focused on the bios and it isn't fixed yet...

the issue with the laptop was a failing hard drive which has been replaced and it appears the laptop is fixed 99% but i really don't know cuz it's a backup and i don't use it very often. the 1% dock is cuz it no longer recognizes a bluetooth headset and has had no-boot event since the ''fix''.

the desktop hard drive checked out (by a technician) to be 100% to the good but it still has had four no-boot events since the tune-up.. for the sake of discussion, if there are ten steps in the boot process, the machine usually hangs at step two, however, i've learned a few new tricks to get it to fully boot, the latest is to pull the plug and leave the machine sit three hours or more but this is still in the testing phase. today, after a 26 hours rest, it hung at step two for about ten minutes and then finished booting on it's own and has been, intermittently, running painfully slow, like taking 10 seconds to record a keystroke..

    ideas anyone?
anyone been there and done that :^))

thanks for the suggestion, wrye, actually, it's a OLHD (oil less hd) but i'm considering getting myself oiled up a little early today: i just spent an hour trying to get online, my modem keeps telling me i have an invalid sim. after toggling the modem power for an hour, i switch to sim #2 and it works!!! so now i know that the modem works and i switch back to sim #1 and it also works (simply amazing, eh).

so then i active the mail client in my back up computer cuz my desktop is not cooperating again and google freaks out that i'm using an insecure app (outlook); another hour greasing up gmail.

not only is it more fun in da fils, it's also more frustrating <fizzzzzzz>

Have you tried taking the SIM card out and cleaning the contacts with a q-tip and alcohol?

Why bother with a mail client?

Are all computers fully updated for the latest updates and did you checked them for malware?

Has it come to a point yet where you cut your losses and buy new (or 2nd hand for a laptop backup system)?
