Go north on the national highway past the capital, past Cangs, until you see Mercury Drugs on the left. At that corner turn right for about 1/2 kilometer and you will see the medical center on the right. The first building on the right is the one you go to. Tell the guard the doctor you want to see and he will give you a number, most doctors there run a clinic on a first come - first serve basis. Expect a long wait. Good luck.
I'd love to have a decent GP doctor that allows appointments. I may not have much to do but my time is still to valuable to me to wait an hour for a doctor to show up (late) then 1-2 more hours for the waiting list. Pretty much every doctor I have asked is the same thing as first come first serve and very few even let you phone ahead which rarely gets answered IF they even tell you you can.
Well its right on the northern end of downtown, any trike should know where siliman medical center is. Go in the first building (Not the ER) look on the big board posted in front of Doctors and their suite numbers, then go to his office. I believe it is p500 and his office is on the 2nd floor. Easy find
Another ENT suggestion. I went today to have my ears syringed. Used Dr Gubantes - Room 222A at the aforementioned Silliman Medical Center. Very nice guy - all the latest equipment and did a thorough job - both ears were badly blocked and took a fair while to suction and clean. 700 pesos. Money well spent. He works on a priority number basis. I got mine when the front desk opened at 7am and was #1. Went back at 9.30 and was done by 10am. No complaints and will use him again.
Yep...agree with posters about Dr Flores and Gubantes. The wife occasionally has a flare up of a ear problem that is allergy based. Both docs have done a clean and professional service and treated her lug 'oles to a trick. I think Dr Flores has the slight edge as he is a ENT specialist, but I am sure both are equally competent to treat your ear problem. Arrive early at Silliman and go upstairs after getting your ticket from security. The waits can be quite lengthy. If a trike driver doens't know where Silliman is he shouldn't be peddling a pedi-cab service in Dumaguete!
I was #5 for the earlier referred Dr Flores today, he ended up with an emergency call so they moved me over to Dr Gubantes, by then I was #12 for him. You must have walked right past me in the 2nd floor waiting room when you left. I was the only one on the front row, had on a green t-shirt and maroon backpack.
It is possible you now have an ear infection so a GP visit would be advisable. If you have a problem getting to see one on Sunday then try hydrogen peroxide (check for what dilution to use) - that should help with the ear wax and is also good against microbes (I use it as a mouthwash for mouth ulcers and for mild tooth pain). Hope you are soon well again.
Had problems with the ear for many years, had two ops on closing a ruptured eardrum, I have had many ear infections leading to permanent Tinnitus. So I really need to see an ENT Specialist.
