I had 3 favorites that have recently turned sour so I am looking for a new favorite pizza in Dumaguete. Here are the ones I no longer like.

Shakeys in Robinsons. I phoned for a pizza to be delivered to Sibulan and they informed me the minimum order for delivery is 1,000 pesos. IMHO that is first world pricing for 3rd rate pizza, even though Shakeys is not that bad. I cannot justify that price so they are out.

Similarly, Yellow Cab priced themselves out of my range by upping their price over 100 pesos. I had last years delivery prices taped to my fridge but when I called I found out the price of the pizza I was ordering was 144 pesos more at about 750 total. Again, first world pricing for a 3rd rate pizza, even though Yellow Cab is not that bad.

I was also disappointed by Neva's Pizza. They have put up the prices of all their pizzas by about 150 pesos since last year and the quality has dropped. They used to be my go-to place for fast, tasty, cheap pizza even though they use filipino ingredients. My stomach is still queasy from yesterday's delivery.

So who else has good pizza and delivers to Sibulan? Did all the pizza places put their prices up? Something to do with the train tax perhaps?

I think price increases are something you are going to have to get used to. Inflation is getting out of control. Businesses will not be able to stay in business if they don't raise their prices. And, unlike what Duterte would like you to think, it ain't Trump's fault:

Well there's price increases, and there's 185 pesos to 330 pesos in a year for a pizza which is d*mn close to double. Can't stay here long with that kind of inflation. Fortunately it seems isolated to pizza.

I don't watch prices all that much but don't think Neva's really increased all that much as that's where I go. Today ordered 2 speciality (mozz pizza's) from Neva's and came to 700p both had extra cheese and 1 extra pepperoni and black olives. From a year+ ago the whole order might be 100p more then I recall or a bit less.

I tend to avoid Shakey's and Yellow Cab as they are alright but way overpriced for their quality.

This is a Dumaguete thing though especially I think. In the RP inflation is hitting but Dumaguete is getting it seems much worse hit. I think its due to the land market and certain groups buying up all the investment inner city land they can and prices on rental locations getting seriously jacked. Many of these business's are paying insane rental costs location.

Neva's was always my favorite, I think I personally would pay a little extra for it over the other choices. Never was crazy about how they covered it in plastic for delivery. I always had to pop it in the oven to crisp it up. I was so glad to get back to the U.S. to get decent pizza, though. Never could get really great pizza there in Dumaguete. Probably due to lack of access to necessary ingredients.

I tried that a few years ago and couldn't finish a slice, much like that awful sweet crap Greenwich serves up.

The place up in Valencia towards the PLDT tower has pretty decent pizza. It isn't a common/normal "style" of pizza (I would call it a deep dish pizza by appearance, but it has a unique flavor/texture to the crust) but it tastes pretty good to me. The first bite is going to throw your off a bit.

I prefer their spicy pizza, I think it is called the "Red Devil" or something like that. Can't recall the name but their number is 0910 205 0691 (if my contact list is still good). Can't remember the price but I'm thinking P200-300/pizza depending on the toppings. I think I remember a discounted menu for "Filipino style/size" pizzas as well.

For here, I only eat pizza at Pasta King. Cost a little more but acceptable (notice I didn’t use delicious, great, Chicago style, etc). I haven’t tried it at South Beach, wonder if it is as good as Gerry used to make there?

For those who ever make it to Cebu City try S&R Pizza at the S&R or Ayala Mall (SM Mall one isn't as good though). Pizza by the slice or order a whole for think less then 700p and its a 16" 6 slice pizza (order whole and they can cut any slice count you want). It tastes like a decent American pizza of course no where as good as some pops pizza place in NYC or so. This tells me the ingredients are available but no one wants to deal with shipping in from Cebu City or Manila everything they would need and keep enough of a quantity going to offset shipping expenses.
