there are several branches all over the Phlippines, but where is the headquarter of this funny company, I would like to send them a very "nice" letter. anybody can help with it ?
The only place that comes up is Tacloban and I doubt that is it. There is a Branch here in Zamboanguita where we applied to have ours installed, and pay each month in advance at. But there are no "Headquarters" to speak of when you search in Google. For the most; I LOVE my Fil-Products Package! Rarely the TV will fritz out on me but not my favourite channels anyways, so I simply flip to the next channel. The Internet and TV loses signal when there is a Blackout in Zamboanguita, but that is to be expected. On the 6Mbps connection I can knock down 30+ Movies overnight if I line them up, more than I could get on my 20Mbps Fibre-Optic connection back in Oz so one Happy Chappy here!
Brian, If you pay one year in advance the savings is about 20% (or something like that). I don't have their internet yet but I do know the savings on the cable TV is substantial.
I was quite happy to be rid of fil-products. The core channels I watched had sound issues for half of them and its due to their bad feed and they didn't care to get it fixed. One of the channels I liked was out of freezing 20% of the time as well.
the TV allone, was all those years very good, no complains, but since a few month we have additional the internet-line, but now we have trouble with both signals, sometimes the TV-Picture is bad or away, sometimes the I-net is away, I think they have problems with the splitter or with our 1,5 Km distance to the main line (National Road), several times we called for maintenace, but nothing really changed, they don´t like email or text-msg contact - now answers! but however, yesterday I have been in Zambo and cancelled the I-net.
I live about 120/150M from the Highway and I had a very hard time to get them to connect me. They claimed my internet would not work correctly and the TV would give me trouble, but after two and a half years without Internet here and one snowy channel which I could understand anyways, I was willing to risk it. They used the heavier cable, and put a box out the front (which neighbours can connect to if they wish to avail the TV or Internet, that was the option of free installation knowing not a single one of my neighbours will avail the service) and to date *touch wood* all has worked with very minor inconvenience. I know now it is a deciding factor in our future choice of where we want a House/to live. It MUST be close to the Highway and MUST have Fil-Products available! Fil-Products should have told you also that a long (if it is ADSL) connection from the Highway would not work correctly. One of the Resorts here in Maluay was in the process of availing the Fiber-optic so he can provide customers with fast Internet and is confident it will work fine, his Resort is maybe 1200M from the Highway here. I have not heard back if it was successful or not.
