    Spent 6 months in Boquete Panama, Weather is perpetual Spring and city is small and friendly... David (larger city with shopping) is 30 minutes away down a 4 lane concrete hiway... They use US Dollar for currency and rents are good but a little higher, and there is a friendly Expat community there with a Sunday Swap meet... you can have all the western foods and comforts (for a price) and you are in US time zone
    Cons: you need some Spanish to be comfortable

    When you leave Dumaguete by ferrie.....look back at the island....smoke hangs over the island.....our beach area us covered with trash . I tried to get help cleaning it up... I was told....it will be just as bad with in weeks...every one just throws garbage on the ground... it's normal here.. so many neighbors burn plastic in the trash...chokes me out so bad I have to leave my own home.. One night it was so bad I went in town and stayed at a motel over night

    Why Dumaguete City? Much more better place to live is in Valencia, only 8 km away from Dumaguete!
