They aren't children and they aren't being "used". (Well, hopefully they aren't. :meh:) And who said the allowance was P50? You make it sound as if they don't have a choice to be with us and that they are incapable of making adult decisions. I have always given my gf's much more credit than that.

When my father died the family did nothing. He had arranged and paid for everything. Funeral and other expenses. We simply got together grieved and talked about the good times. He even paid for a meal on the town for all of us. So I have done the same minus the meal as there is nowhere decent to eat out in this country. My attorney told me an airtight will needs court order here. So I did a Deed of Donation Mortice Causa. A word of warning is that new BIR rules now tax both Deed of Sale and Deed of Donation.

I'm not Norwegian but I think it's similar to other European countries - if the child has a Norwegian passport and is still a minor she should be able to get permanent residency in Norway, and once they are there, they should be able to get whatever support they have for children and their unemployed single moms. She certainly wouldn't have to sleep under a bridge or starve I'd say, plus the kid could get proper education. Also probably easier to find work, but of course takes a lot of courage to do such a step. Also she and the child have to actually get there somehow in the first place. Definitely contact the embassy.

They will, if the child is a Norwegian national and still minor. They cannot deny the child to stay in its home country, and since it cannot stay alone, she'll be allowed to stay as well. It's like that in Germany, and I see no reason why Norway (or any other country) should handle it differently.

I do believe a minor with a Norwegian pasport cannot be denied to stay in Norway. However, since the mother has a PH passport, I am wondering the Norwegian embassy is willing to give her a visa under the given circumstances.

    I don't know.
Thanks to all concerned for the information, I have passed on this Info to the mother, there are quite a few of us that would help her get there if required and we have mutual friends in Norway that would pave the way for her there.
