Hello, I had an accident and need operation here at Silliman Medical. We need a blood donor for Bloodtype O rh Negative. If somebody can help, please contact me at *** or *** or *** We already got the donor list from silliman bloodbank to call but no succes so far. Since O negative is a 'foreigners' bloodtype we are trying all friends to help us search on Facebook and other media. Please help us, hopefully we can find a donor soon!

I have had no success in finding anyone but hope you have. On the point of wanting O- , is that your actual blood group? Often O- is seen as the 'safe option' for everyone BUT in fact I believe if possible it is best to have your specific blood group. So, if your blood group is not O- then I think you might look into donors with your own blood group. Whichever you use, the main factor is for your blood and the donor's blood to be cross-matched within the laboratory.This should always be done, even if using O-, unless the need is so VERY urgent that there is no time. These are only points for you to be aware of and not medical advice, although I worked in a hospital transfusion unit some years ago.
Yup, really need O- If it was another type it was SO much easier to find a donor.!! But we have one blood bag now, good chance we found another tomorrow so we need only one more. So anyone reads this, please try to inform people around you. We never know, maybe somebody can help me!
I had the forum send an alert to 46 members and an email to 37 members who indicated that they were O- blood type on their profiles. Hopefully one of them is in the Philippines and can help out.
