Hi I am thinking of doing a recce to Cebu area Example from Melbourne to say Cebu February returning earl March 2019 I checked return Prices on Philippine Airlines $ 1450.00 AU On Cebu Pacific the fare was $750.00 AU Virtually double Any Aussies that have flown on either Airline prepared to comment or Give advice on alternatives I have selected full service flights to ensure a fair comparison Love to hear from you I am not being selective on nationalities except Thar Aussies are more likely to have used either or both Airlines Regards Brian
For health reasons I fly Dumaguete to Sydney every 3 months and return. The flight goes via Manila. I have done the Manila to Melbourne sector once for a family function there. I now almost exclusively use CP due to the price difference. PAL is full service whilst CP is budget so be careful to factor into the price equation the luggage, pre-paid food and seat selection. I will qualify this in that I am only short so the CP seat is adequate for me. Otherwise I find the staff very friendly and know what I am getting for the price so happy to fly with them.
I have only ever flown CebPac from Dumaguete to Sydney and VV for the past 2 years. They are an all economy airline so you do have to buy add ons like luggage, pre paid meals and seat selection. The only option you would have to get to Cebu from Melbourne is via Manila as no airlines fly directly from Australia to Cebu. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks mate, I just picked Cebu as a random choice to compare prices, when i narrow down my dates and destination I will be more selective, I have flown C B from Bangkok to Clark ten years ago got squashed in between to massive Rugby players. what does VV stand for Just curious
Roughly half the cost if flying to Dumaguete by C P compared to Pal $650 CP $1,300 PAL Perhaps Cost Verses Comfort or convenient flight times
I have use Cebu Pacific and on my trip out from Melbourne the flight was delayed 7 hours. They gave a voucher for a free ticket so I asked the girl at the ticket counter " Is his a free ticket anywhere?" and she said she thought it was. I was doubtful.... Used the voucher on my return trip and only paid A$ 70 in taxes My flights were not very full so you could stretch out BUT the seats dont have much padding so my strategy if I fly with them again would be take a pillow and stock up on snacks, sandwiches etc because the food on offer is not that exciting. For value for money great I think my outward trip from Melbourne was A$320
