Thank you. I will try to find something in Cebu. Have to go anyway in couple of weeks. Otherwise I will buy online as well.
there's a sports store a few doors south of hotel essencia that has fishing gear. i didn't look too close but i saw some nice looking reels. OPSIMAS Sporting Goods https://goo.gl/maps/eq5LpLr3TJL2 save some fish for me....
No idea, to be honest. I guess it is all about how to prepare the dishes. If you have a nice recipe, it will work out. What you always can do is, steam the fish, or put it on a bbq just with garlic and coconut oil. Cannot be wrong.
Optimas have been closed for a while, but there are just opened a new tackle shop in Cebu in Banilad, looks interesting
'' Greetings Am a 61 year old Yank living in Bacong who has 8 rods/reels of various size and approx. 400 pounds of jigs. Have no problem using live/cut bait or trolling feathers. Am opening a new shop in Robinsons Mall Dumaguete, but am NEVER too busy to go fishing! Was a full time salt water fishing guide in Florida for 10 years chasing primarily grouper, tuna, marlin, etc. Fished most of the major tournaments in Mexico/Bahamas/Texas/Florida as well. Am a licensed USCG Master/Captain, A Dive Master, and a Paramedic who has 13 years actual (very heavy) USCG surf and helicopter rescues. Am quite comfortable off shore and a patient teacher to those who want to learn. Looking for fishing buddies with boats or access to boats. Prefer non-banca type, but am a realist and realize that here in the Phils., one must take what one can get in the way of water craft. Probably best to e-mail or call as I'm uncertain if I could ever figure out this *&(*!#%&-ing computer thing more than twice a year.
