In all my visits to the Philippines, I have never once, tasted authentic anything, other than filipino food.

For example, the jolibee burger... terrible. Is that even beef? Probably carabao.. or worse?? LOL

I can't imagine any of these indian places really serve authentic indian foods.
If I ever make a trip down to Dumaguete, I'll try these places out still. Thanks for sharing.

Jollibee burger, I never been so drunk in my life that I taste it, if I want food I eat other places, though been there with some Filipino friends and eat rice and chicken. Filipinos don't have a clue how to make a burger. I like Indian food very much to and will try the new Curry restaurant and tell you my opinion. I get Indian food in Spicy restaurant in Valencia a few times and surprised so good it tastes. My biggest concern when I go to food places is the cleanliness if I see the dirt in the kitchen is not from today, I'm out again no matter what, but not always possible to check it out

Will respectfully disagree. I have had many a good burger over here, you just have to know where to look for them or give places a try. Like everything else, some are good, others not so, and once in a while you find a real gem.

Try Kri restaurant if you want good food in Dumaguete  (Blue Cheese burger is awesome, same as the turkey special).

Rotti Boss and Curry house are the best Indian in Dumaguete heads down (same owner...).
If you carving for some curry and nan bread you know where to go.

I agree that KRI is great food but I am continually annoyed by their " not available " reply. Late last week I took my family and a friend of 6 there and of the 6 orders 5 were not available (including a burger) and some of their drink options. What was finally received was excellent and everyone commented positively but still it is annoying that they have so little stock of their menu. We had been earlier to Twin Lakes and had morning tea at Azalea, the KRI owner's father's place which also was excellent but again lacked all stock of their menu which was especially annoying as we were their first guests. Again all was enjoyed but that service was slow. It won't stop me going back - but it's the difference of the way business is done here - even the good businesses.[/QUOTE]

Tried Curry House for lunch today. My wife ordered the combo plate, I ordered the chicken korma. Very spicy, I do like spicy but even for me it was on the edge, but my wife could not eat any of it. I liked the food except for a chicken dish on the combo plate, it was inedible. There were only two other tables with people, and still it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We were just in the process of gathering up our stuff to leave when they finally came with the food, but really we should have left long before. My wife does not want to go back, but I would be willing to give them a second try. I told her next time we will remember to request not so spicy when we place our order, I would like to try the tandoori and some of the other dishes (requested not so spicy), but the VERY slow service decreases the odds that we would go back again.

I drove past about a week ago at about 8pm (after leaving Lantaw because it was fully booked and people were waiting) and Curry House was empty - I did not comment on that at the time (in respect of nil customers = warning) as I waited for someone who had actually been a customer to comment. Thanks for your very good feedback - I still might try it but will ask about low- spicy versions and perhaps will ask about serving time when I enter. On the other hand, I might take a book and read it while waiting - trying to give them a chance.
