Health & Wellness Dumaguete ACE Doctors Hospital

Anyone heard any up-to-date (Jan 2019) info on the new ACE Doctors Hospital?

It was originally scheduled to open Jan 2018 and in March 2018 they claimed to have already hired staff and started training. The last six months my doc, who is an officer of the ACE group, keeps saying "a couple more months" but now I heard that a couple financial advisors in town say "it will never open". Two of my family's doc's are members and say "everything's fine" without any details.

They sold "shares" for about Php200,000 each and each share gives one family 60 days of free private room per year plus 50% off services, professional fees and non-imported supplies plus 25% off most imported supplies. One share covers husband, wife, children under 18 and both husband's and wife's parents. Benefits are passed down the generations forever and the shares can be sold on the open market once the place opens. Once the place is in the black the shares also pay dividends but that is said to take a while. Seems like a pretty good deal compared with any other health care aids I've found and people who are share holders at other, long established ACE hospitals say it works just as promised and in a few cases is quite profitable. When we bought our share's, the woman in line ahead of us bought 20 shares which was encouraging. I thought I had done "due diligence".

The building appears to be finished, externally anyway.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across any gossip or even factual info.

 

If so, maybe transform it into a YMCA, though all those people buying shares will not be amused.

 

This is an interesting question that I also am interested in. Is anybody a member of this hospital, or had an experience with services there?

 

Why would anyone need 20 shares? 1200 days per year of private room?

 

I wonder is this was an 'investment' idea - hoping the value would increase and could be sold on. Or, to book the room each side, as in buying adjacent lots, for extra peace and quiet. I doubt the latter.
