Tried Grump’s for the first time. Extensive menu looked so good I had lunch and ordered a takeout for dinner, great service, fast and friendly, and the food very good. Bread, pasta, sauces, etc made daily.
Now my favorite restautant on the south side.

I have been eating there a lot as well. The schnitzel (mine was with white sauce) is excellent.

My friend had the schnitzel with the brown sauce today and said it was terrific. I had the takeout lasagna tonight and really enjoyed it.
Note: .I am not German and play no favourites, simply enjoy the few times I can afford to go out for a meal.

I am German, but not nessicarily a lover of german food.

Anyhow, Grumpy’s is the place to go if you love well prepared food and good service.

The menu contains some German dishes as well as international and Philippine cuisine. All freshly cooked with high quality ingredients. They even make their own bread.

I didn’t find a better restaurant in Duma yet in terms of quality and freshness of its products. You can have really nice breakfast, delicious lunch and wide offers of excellent dishes for dinner.

Only negative thing is the location. Very close to main road it’s quit noisy.

This is always been a complaint about any of the previous restobars in this location. I don't see it as a problem really. Traffic is just a background noise to me anymore. I live 400+ meters from the valencia-Dumaguete road and can still hear the grumbling exhausts of worn out scooters. Learn to ignore it.

Mine as well. Grumpy's raised the bar a bit higher for the other places in the area. It was about about time. More and more expats in Dumaguete and therefore also more competion. I remember the early days in Phuket/Thailand. Same low class bars/restaurants as we still have in Duma. Most of these are closed now. BTW, talking about standards. A studio costing here 18000 Peso and comparing with a studio in Thailand is another example. The Filipino version you get in Thailand for 7000 Peso a month. But also, here things change for the better.

They were serving pretty much the same menu with the same quality when he ran La Fiesta. I was very happy to hear that he moved his operation in the path of my usual travel when I came back last month. La Fiesta was just too far out of the way.
