I would still like to find a secluded spot around Zamboanguita where I can keep my feet firmly planted to dear old Mother Earth and throw a line from the Shoreline and catch a pan sized Fish...

A nice long pier into some water over a man made structure would be great.. we would build structures with bales of hay. Fish will even try to hide next to piers. They have made structures with barges with old cars piled on them welded together and sunk.. any thing to offer some hiding places for the bait fish to try to hide in..it draws what we are after.. Ive driven 3 hours to get to the atlantic ocean..then 3 more hours out to a ship that was sunk just to fish off of. Long day of driving and getting burned up for a few hours of relaxing..lol

My old man insisted on Fishing in the Cane Fields on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland (Oz) where the Mozzies were as big as Sparrows! Between the heat, no breezes because the rows of Cane blocked that out, meaning the Mozzies had a free feast, then getting snagged up because Dad insisted on the gnarliest of places chasing the Mangrove Jack, what should have been an enjoyable day always ended in us kids BEGGING him to throw it in and just go home!

I must admit I would love if he was still around as quietly I did enjoy those times, except for that one night when I reached into his bag in the dark and inadvertently sprayed my face with Mortein Cockroach Spray instead of the Aeroguard Mozzie Spray to which I was seeking...
A little tip, Spray your face in Chili Juice! It would have to burn a whole lot less than Mortein does...

Just been in contact with mike alano as not heard from him on here for a while, he has been busy with work of late and is moving house next week.
Reason of this posting is he has a garage sale this fri and sat and he has plenty of fishing kit for sale as has too much. His place is here!

Hey, DI. Been out of the loop lately. Transferred to Valencia away from the sea. whyyyyyy?

Anyway, I got time to fish a couple of weeks ago when I had a reunion of friends and anglers in one of the newest sport fishing destinations in the Philippines which will be open in the near future. This place is in Cabanatatuan in Luzon and this private lake. It is seeded with Peacock Bass (monocolus and temensis with the first batch in the 6-7 kilo region), LMB, Arapaima, Pacu, RTC and nearby ponds with snakeheads.

If the lake will be open for public I will notify this space and if any of you guys are interested... I can hook you up with a guide there.

    Tight lines brothers.

    Mike

    Hi and welcome.

Would imagine you might have to go very near the source to be sure no one has yet used it as a toilet. And I assume that close to the source would yield no fish.

True but not so many shared bacteria or viruses as with humans.
