I love the smell of napalm in the morning

The Philippines was never a big user of napalm. For that you usually needed to go to North and South Vietnam and I don’t think the smell of jellied gasoline is all the great lol.

If they would have used real naplam, I suspect the jungle would not have looked so nice for a long time. I think it was used to incinerate vegetation to expose camps where Vietcong were hiding. Flaming, jellied gasoline raining down that sticks on the skin and clothes would been have been a nice morning wake-up call.

Perhaps, but the word “napalm” in this thread was not started by me nor the movie apocalypse now, which I never saw but I suppose dealt with this is a manner far more explicit than I. Most important is that if you are an American or any other fighting entity other than Vietcong, you were NOT victim of napalm in any way. It is just gasoline manufactured to a semi-solid and sprayed from the air to burn down enemy hideouts in the Jungle. No chemical side effects other than fire. Perhaps you are thinking of Dow Chemical’s Agent Orange which is a totally different chemical and which did produce many victims that the VA refused to recognize for decades afterwards. I would never speak that way about agent orange, which produced actual victims on both sides. Napalm was sprayed in the Jungles as the original poster inferred (he said he LIKES the smell of napalm lol, do you object to that too?) and there were very few civilian, zero American and other allied injuries in the rural areas of Vietnam where it was used against the Vietcong...but war is war and we cannot change history by avoiding it. You shouldn’t comment in a thread with napalm in the title if you find it offensive. You essentially requested that the thread shut down but I believe that should not happen over something I think you confusing with agent orange. Finis.
