Exactly. All I do is the smoke test and insurance. (which is worthless anyway). Numberplates ? I dont care anymore. I went a few times to the dealership and LTO. I got my motorbike 2.5 years ago and still no number plates. My bike is registered. Enough for me. Accident ? As Rye 83 says.

Everyone that has bought a bike from DU EK Sam has gotten their CR and OR in 3 to 4 months. What is GUD doing to it's customers??

Get proper insurance, not that LTO crap that covers P5k liability damages and you may have better luck.

Very cheap to get better insurance than the LTO crap, though I have no experience if it's cover if an accident happens. Personal I will never drive any vehicle without legal papers, I don't care about numberplates as long the paperwork is done and I drive legal

Presumably then you have no insurance either, if a passenger on / in your vehicle sufferred serious injury you would pay up whatever the cost / whoever was at fault? For however long?

There would obviously be a civil case if a reasonable agreement could not be made.

Having an accident is not related to having official metal plates. You are still legally registered and insured in a useless but mandatory plan. I usually let my Filipina wife drive due to the problems when a foreigner is involved. However, if I were driving and somebody got hurt while rear-ending me (as an example of it not being my fault), I would not follow the advice to pay medical bills etc. unless a court determined it to be my fault. I would get an attorney. I don’t care if it costs me more. Sometimes ‘principle’ is more important than money and no, the system is not so corrupt that the foreigner doesn’t have a chance. If the case went to court, I’m not sure what the plaintiffs would pay but as defendant I would probably pay about 50K for legal costs. No question, I would pay it, just as I did in an unrelated unjust situation where I paid and won.

This is the original poster. I finally did get a copy of the OR/CR in April.
