O-my the fangs are coming out. You BOY play nice now or MaMa will make you both set and stair at each other for a couple of hours.

While I agree that Mr Rye can be condescending, I don't think his comment there was of that variety. And I also don't think he has a personality disorder. He speaks his mind and is honest.. Like filter off always, which to be fair, most people take off their filters when they are on the internet.
It is like the wild wild west.. Come prepared with thicker skin and the ability to brush it off lol.

Participating in forums, especially with a group of regulars you have never met requires thick skin. You might have wrote the message as a joke, but it lost that as it made it's way to the forum. I use emoji's a lot in an attempt to make something clear that it's a joke. Even then, it may still be borderline or moderated. Notice that I have 3 red points and @Rye83 has 10 of his own. We don't always have happy agreements with everyone.

I think it was easier in the past to gain negative ratings - until they were given only for abhorrent or trollin'. Correct? Anyway 'IceColdAlice' (or similar name) told off Mr R for cussin' and he's been a good boy (mostly) since then.

As Bob Dylan wrote in 'To Ramona': "...there's no one to beat you, no one to defeat you 'cept the thoughts of yourself feeling bad"

I knew a guy that stayed many years on fake Balikbayan stamps. He paid P20,000 per year. It worked out well for him (immigration wise) He died before he got caught..

1. I think of all the people who post on here, Mr R shows no signs of any personality disorder - unless you think being honest and not afraid to speak your mind is a disorder. When we are being positive he can be very helpful - he will research topics and give his take in a way which shows he took it seriously and gave his time to help. When we are being negative, in the various ways that is possible, then he tells us. Nothing wrong with that - we can listen or not, it is our choice.

2. As others have said, when asking something which can be misconstrued it is very important to indicate when something is a joke. The matter on which you wrote has legal consequences which those protective of this marvellous site would naturally want no part of. 99.9999999999999999% of us are in agreement with that. Sometimes I joke and do not make it clear enough, but I will do so more in future. But there are jokes ... and there are jokes.

2. Is it not condescending to tell someone he needs another job? Mr R is a very successful expert in the field of electronic warfare - I think he "has another job".

3. If any of us find we cannot cope with being on a Forum where people make a range of comments, then simply ban ourselves - just look and don't comment or just don't log on. From my perspective, I find this whole site to be incredible, the information within it extremely useful and I value it.

I am reminded of the well worn story of a Psychiatrist talking to a new patient: -
"Does your whole family suffer from insanity?"
He replied,
"No, we all seem to pretty much enjoy it actually."

So my medical notes leaked out!
