I'm not sure where to post this, maybe in the "funny stuff" section? Cebu - The Land Transportation Office - Central Visayas (LTO-7) is calling on all car owners to pick up their number plates or face the consequences. - klajoo.com - LTO-7 boss Victor Caindec announced on Friday that 52,120 license plates for vehicles registered between March 2017 and May 2018 can be picked up on Saturday. The license plates can be picked up at the SM Seaside from 9th February to 16th February, between 10am to 7pm, at the LTO. Car owners must bring the OR (Official Receipt) and CR (Certificate of Registration) as well as two valid IDs. Caindec says, "Anyone who does not pick up their license plate can be charged a fine of 5,000 PHP for driving without their number plate assigned." Last year, the LTO-7 issued over 22,000 license plates, of which more than 8,000 have not yet been picked up. KR 10.02.2019 - 3:55
Jimeve, Do you think waiting for license plates for 2 years is trolling?????? If so you do not have a clue about anything around here..
I think the rating was clicked on accident. It was removed as there was nothing "trolling" about the post. Almost everyone that gets a negative rating knows their post was deserving of it. If you have to question it it was most likely an accidental hit.
ummm 'calling on all car owners'. what method, I wonder, to they use for contact owners; newspaper story, text, phone call? I believe some new car dealers have the plates picked up in bundles, then notify those who have bought cars/mc's from them to pick them up.
Bought my car in 2015, still no plates. According to the Dealership, they are here but are part of the Supreme Court TRO holding up release until the custom duty issue is resolved between the LTO and BOC. Finally just had the plates made locally. Seems with all of the talent of being able to make simple things here, that the government would just allow the Dealers to contract the service locally and have the plates made once the LTO issues the Registration that contains your plate number.
Manila - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) presented on Tuesday the new number plates for motorcycles. - klajoo.com - The new number plates (see article 16.03.2019) have a size of 198 millimeters to 220 millimeters, while the letters and numbers have a height of 34 millimeters. The two-line number plates get a colored bar between the lines, to the allocation, in which region they were registered. Deputy LTO chief Edgar Galvante says: "The number plates could be even smaller, the only requirement is that they have to be readable from 15 to 20 meters." Metro Manila motorcycles get number plates, with a red bar, says Galvante. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) says we still have collusion with stakeholders to publicize the implementation provisions and regulations of Republic Act (RA) 11235 within 90 days. At the same time, Galvante rejected concerns that the newly signed law would only increase the 15 million backlog of deliveries of newly registered motorcycles. About 5.9 million of the 15 million motorcycles were registered between February 2014 and July 2016. According to Galvante, the LTO recently purchased an automated press, which will double the printing process
LTO to my mind all they should be involved in is giving a sequence of Number Plates to the vehicle dealers and all cars and M/Cs should be driven away registered. The manufacturing of number plates should be a commercial enterprise nothing to do with LTO.
