I'm a dog lover but have been in the same situation as jimeve, it can really drive you nuts when the neighbors with the barking dogs and the barangay captain see you as the problem. No sleep at night over a long time and most people get a twisted brain. Most of barking dogs are in a cord or chain 24/7 which are torture against the dogs, but who cares. Against street dogs who roam free around you already get a lot of advice, one more from me, I use firecrackers, most dogs run away, it works for me

 

Perhaps your wife will be ok to rent out the property thereby keeping her precious family ownership while looking to rent somewhere else?

 

If you will move each time you hear barking dogs, best to buy a mobile home

 

I agree, most are street dogs they form packs and start fighting. They need culling but not by a foreigner.

 

As much as I hate Street Dogs I could not Cull, We don't like them but we surely should feel for their fight for some sort of Existence. There other factions in life that require culling but we don't do that either

 

I'm told you will face jail time if you kill dogs and same if you eat them lol, Some locals here stopped eating dogs after they were told there is a jail sentence for eating dogs. I have seen some locals make BQ of a dog after they are informed about the law, I just pass by and they assured me that it was from a traffic accident. Just to avoid misunderstandings, I'm not the one who informs locals about the law here, I mind my own business, but they know I'm a dog lover
