I am beginning to think my friend that you have already bought up all the land in Bayawan and are trying to persuade us all to move there.
Darn. I got caught. Erm, wait. I'm not allowed to own land at all. OK. Then these are not my lots. Good for you. You can still buy lots there.
Are there livable areas close to Bayawan that have some elevation and ocean overlook such that the prevailing climate is cooler than at sea level? Someplace like a Valencia in contrast to Dumaguete situation. Hi all, I’m new and find this thread interesting and encouraging. Thanks for the lead.
Check out the road from Bayawan going towards Mabinay. There's no town similar to Valencia up there, but it's a nice drive, elevation and views.
Thanks Hawk263, topomap indicates elevations there to be around 654 m/2145 ft. Valencia said to average 200 to 500 m above the sea. Should be cool enough climate then. Now for an exploratory search for hospitable communities along that Bayawan-Mabinay road closer to Bayawan...
Having been a Dumaguetena from birth, I consider Bayawan too far from where I live. Commuting there from Dumaguete takes ages. It is a nice place though.
The trip may take 8-10 if you go from Bayawan to dumagiete to bacold. Bayawan direct to Bacolod is not that far as they are both on the same side of the island. I'm GUESSING but I think about 3-4 hours should get you there.
