Just returned to Thailand from the Philippines. I thought the food was very good and I could get food palatable to the western world. I also had no problems with Internet anywhere I went on Dumaguete including Dauin. Also found it fine in Moalboal, Cebu.
I have yet to find a beach (or any place in the Philippines) where I get a 4g connection with speeds of 30MBps and up on the beach as I experienced in Thailand couple years ago on a regular basis. Even on islands smaller than siquijor.
Oh no! What ever shall we do at the beach if we can't use our cell phones!? What a terrible experience that would be! We might have to actually *gasp* enjoy ourselves and our surroundings without having to rely on approval from others on social media! BTW, I did have LTE in the pictures below (Panglao). I didn't check the speed....or remember having any real need for it.
Some expats live in front of the beach and cable companies won't/can't go that far down the road, unless you wan't a slow connection.
I guess that is some research someone should do prior to renting or buying on the beach. It isn't a shortcoming of the Telecom (since very few people/customers live at the very edge of a town), it is a shortcoming of the person who "needs" a good signal but didn't bother to check if it was available before moving.
What would LTE have to do with taking pictures? I can take pictures in airplane mode and no cell functionality. Must have taken some effort to find a nice abandoned beach on Panglao Island.
Ho yes USA, every day a murder-rape-kidnapping... if you listen and believe the media its better to not have a life and stat home alone...
yes people like you, please dont come here, internet is awful in a white sand beach. Filipino are very awful compare to Thai and very violent. I mean check our president... what a crazy guy right? then imagine the people who are voting for him? Please stay safe and mostly far from here in your 18g connection live insta-fagetbook-twitcher environment!
