Does anybody know if and where we can buy ghee, preferable grass fed organic but any ghee will do. Thank you
If you can't find any there, look up how to make your own, it looks fairly easy...(don't quote me on that, I have never tried doing it)
As the others said, you can make your own. But, you need good quality butter, which I never found in PI. It aint going to work with "star margarine"
I use a local Texas brand, pasture fed. You can use any type of butter though but some of the cheaper ones have a high water content which makes it a little more difficult and gives you less ghee. I've made it with cheap butter and it has tasted fine.
If anyone is interested in farming or livestock in the Philippines, I recommend starting dairy, there is almost no dairy products that are locally produced.
Pls check last 2 posts in Curry - Nice Indian restaurant in Dumaguete for links to 2 different places in Cebu, Indian grocery shops, they will probably have by the gallon containers, I seem to remember.
There would first need to be refrigerated transport otherwise the milk would go off, not to mention the brownouts. I gather thats why most milk supplies here are of the long life kind. Anchor butter is a good one.
