There was also a poisoning in another area of bacong recently close by. The neighbor told me atleast 4 dogs were poisioned and a box of bones was the culprit with blue powder on them.

Personally I believe the diseased and stray dogs need to be rounded up and euthenised humanely. The number of human killed and injured by these dogs that wander in the streets and cause road accidents is crazy. There are many countries that do just that. Owners have the choice to look after their pets or not. Responsible owners keep their dogs contained.

I can’t stomach strays. I crashed hitting one. Fortunately, it was a slow wreck in a neighborhood street resulting in just a small puncture wound in my ankle.
I have had countless close calls with them. If I had a car I would plow through them.
Two guys I know were not as lucky as me. Both had a mangled leg. One has been dealing with infection from the wreck and a botched surgery from the emergency repair in Bohol for two years. He just returned from Manila with his third surgery. I have no mercy for strays. Kill them all. They’re just street urchins.

Still, a little bit of tact goes a long way. I get that venting on a forum is commonplace and can help deal with the frustrations of living in a foreign culture but let's try to avoid directing our frustration at other members and being "edgy"/disrespectful. Leave that for the emotionally immature teens.

Maybe that explains the bump on the road I felt the other day.

There may be no easy fix to resolve the stray dog issue IMHO. In my area I awake to 10 to 12 dogs running in a pack that is a mix of owned Dogs and strays. Most are un-healthy without question. I grab my shovel nearly every morning to remove what the locals call (land mines) which of coarse is the various excrements these Dogs seem to drop anywhere and at any time. Often I just pressure hose the road. Having said that, "controversy brings change to those that can't" so I imagine some frustrated individual in time will just create a Blog or a few Blogs and collect images of said creatures and when it gets exposed to the point where it catchs a big Wigs attention as it effects Tourism (which it already does) somthing may get implemented to clean house. IMHO @Do not hold breath!

Sad the dog didn't killed you at the time, because now you just want to kill them without mercy,
remember those dogs were abandoned, as a human being we have to respect them because this species of animals helped us!!!

I completely understand why this person may have decided to poison the dogs: Two nights ago I remember leaving McDonald's...and then I was sitting bloody on the side of the road with an old lady using plants to clean out the wounds on my face and arms (good thing I've had my anthrax vaccine), a ladyboy bringing me my watch/wallet/cell phone and asking me if I was ok and a young man calling emergency services. They were good people (to my knowledge I was the first person to pull out my cell phone and document the accident) and I am grateful for their assistance in getting me home. They also said the stray dog situation was out of control and something needed to be done about it and that I was not the only person to have an accident from hitting a dog there.

Not exactly sure what happened but judging from the injuries and torn clothing I believe I did a one arm superman flight attempt off the bike, failed to get liftoff and then rolled. Maybe next time I should try the two arms approach to flight. No serious damage to my scooter (that I know of yet) or to my face. Just cut up and a bit sore. However, the dog can't stay the same. One less of those mutts on the loose. Just doing my part to help alleviate the stray problem, at great expense to my body and good looks. You're welcome. :meh:
The morning I hit the dog:

    Today (two days later):

    Full-face helmet people....full-fuckn-face helmet! FML! :banghead2:

BTW: Second accident in the Philippines. First hitting a pedestrian, now a dog. Almost ever other close call I've had has also been pedestrians or dogs. Seems the things not on vehicles are what's out to get me.
