I was in town today so popped into robinsons for some chicken breast on the bone,i did look twice when i was buying them but thought they would be ok. They were not as went to use tonight and they stank.
They will be returned tomorrow morning and we will see what they say about it.
I will post an update of the outcome, but the guy should have known by the smell they were bad but i suppose they are only trained to sell and not judge the quality.

We use to shop at the one in Robertson's mall. We quit them when we went in one day , had a cart full when we got to the back of the store a very strong oder of rotten chicken violated our noses. Went to the manager told her that we were not in the custom of shopping in a grocery store that smelled so bad and were leaving a cart full behind because the stench had made us ill. We have been doing most of our shopping at Hipper Mart ever sense.
I would not feed that kind of meet to my dogs.

More than one time I change my mind when I went out shopping meat, both in Robinson and other places, meat has been smelly and grey. I was in Robinson Monday and some of the meat I planned buying was not in a condition I want to eat. Normal I will not smell to meat before I buy it, and it is also not always possible but now if I don't hold me back, I try several times come home with meat I planned to eat and end up giving it for the cats and dog (cook it first). I like you go back and complain, I feel in advance that I will talk to the deaf ear. On the way back from Robinson I bought Marlin for kinilaw, (need to be fresh), on the highway outside Octagon and French Bakery, I was disappointed and the cats happy, the Marlin looks okay and I first smell it when I was home, have bought fish there before and it has been okay

It was all behind the glass so there was no way i could have unless i asked to smell it. Should have known better though as the 1st thought is usually the correct one.
I will see what they say tomorrow and if not satisfied maybe i will mention the meat inspectors drop by there.

It made it online though, that's more than a lot of other chickens.

I agree as I have detected the signs of rotting flesh in stores by the odour - but I have a HUGE advantage ... the size of my nose!

we went to the new mall in the northern part of duma about 11am, fresh meat got unloaded beside the building. the delivery guys stacked the red boxes outside at the wall in the full heat of the sunshine. 2 hours later, the boxes were still there, dogs sniffing around them. about 5pm, the boxes were gone. I decided not to buy there any meat, I don't like that kind of pre-preparation of food. to be fair, I guess the delivery conditions at other places are not better.

It does not matter which store but a bad odour I do smell from time to time. For me the most important signal to avoid buying anything. Normally Robinbson is free of odour most of the time, City mall however almost never smells good and I do now understand pretty well why after reading what @tuba-coma did observe. Hypermarket and Lee Plaza are between the two afore mentioned.
