we buy USDA graded meat at BelCris here in Duma which has usually been quite good. but the supply is eratic. also they occasionally have good prime meat at Hypermart but its rare that it is in stock I no longer go to Monterrey for meats, too expensive and many disappointments
I find Belcris to be hit and miss, last time I bought a whole tenderloin for 4000 pesos and had the butcher cut the steaks into a thickness of 3/4 of a inch, worst bloody steak I have ever had. Barbecued 3 steaks and used the remaining ones to make soup.
i too have had my disappointments there but thankfully not a whole tenderloin. i would say80 percent of the time i am happy with the product
I buy a fillet once a week from the deli by Bo’s. An US tenderloin is about 350p, Wagyu more. 4 out of 5 acceptable.
Bo’s coffee on the blvd a block before Silliman Ave. Deli is across the street from the south side of Bo’s
You are referring to JLH Deli under Don Atilano's (same owners, Ollette and Jolo), across the intersection from Bo's and the condos. Similar to Belchris but smaller quantities and lots of great wines, deli, cheeses. Also good fresh baguettes after 12.. Sonya great help...
I think the steaks at JLH are, for me, more tender Belcris. Their Wagyu, although expensive for here, are pretty good.
i will add that on rare occasion hypermart has had USDA prime steaks but i have only found those twice in the past year or so. both times they were good and properly graded in my opinion
