The fish and chips I had were delicious at the new Craft Beer Garden in Bacacay just west on the road past Hypermarket. Note closed Sundays

That is a problem, especially towards Christmas. But they will obtain specific products you want - the only problem is that when I did so I was told they were in transit but then I heard no more, even after a follow up contact.

i have read i think that creme dory is a marketing label given to more than one kind of fish. one such is a catfish farm raised in vietnam and tending to be tainted with chemicals. i would personally not eat any tilapia from china because of what i have read about how they are raised. really not sure what is safe, or safer, with regards to eating fish these days. any suggestions? anyone?

The fish used at Zak's Place is white marlin. The food is well above average
with homemade beefburgers and homemade bread baked more than once a day.
Just before Christmas the fish almost doubled in price, it stayed the same at Zak's Place.
There is no fish today as there's none in the market.
    How do I know ?
    I own it !

The potatoes used at Zak's Place come from Mindanao. They're a bit touch and go but overall good for frying and mashing. I had to buy potatoes from Valencia market once and only once, they were extortionate and they were terrible. Never again.
Dorado I will put on the menu but they're quite elusive at the moment.

Went to Zak's today for an early lunch trying it out for the first time and was happy with my fish and chips. Enjoyed everything and very happy we have another food option up here in Valencia. I will try other dishes in due course and happy to return for the fish and chips.

So, what do you do when you run out of marlin? Rent a sport fishing boat and cast out for the big ones? :joking_lang.

I know from my local restobar, that if the price of fish is too high, to make a reasonable return, they will take it off the menu. This is to make sure that they neither lose money(e.g. when the price doubles or more) nor pass the price increase on to their customers. Once the price reduces to normal again, they then start serving again. They would also never serve that cream dory s**t either.
