Eleven years ago I ordered 2 cheese-burgers from a McDonalds (undisclosed location) and noticed from one bite in that it was totally different than that of what I always had in the West. This is a serious question that I am for sure very interested in and thought it could also save many the time, money, and may help bring some familiarity back into ones life.
    Eg: #1-
This is not about bashing a Franchise, just a focus on what is IDENTICAL IN TASTE to a Western or European chain vs the Philippines (Key Word >Identical)

    Eg: #2-
Is McDonalds identical now? Burger King? Duncan Donuts? KFC?.....and so on as more and more Western Franchises over time will pop up. Appreciate the information in advance.....Cheers!

I don't really get your point saying it could bring some familiarty to your life .So you mean your Big Mac tasted different back home and you want to have it have the same taste here ? Well, Sorry my friend I have to disappoint you. They taste a little bit different here. But still good. Maybe you can get fast delivery from the US/EU from DHL  So this could make you feel happy again to get back the good and unique American or European taste to you again.

Who would've thought that it is such a challenge to reproduce a total lack of taste and nutritional value in the same way all over the world

    Remember ????:
<<Super Size Me is a 2004 American documentary film directed by and starring Morgan Spurlock, an American independent filmmaker. Spurlock's film follows a 30-day period from February 1 to March 2, 2003, during which he ate only McDonald's food. The film documents this lifestyle's drastic effect on Spurlock's physical and psychological well-being and explores the fast food industry's corporate influence, including how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit.

Spurlock ate at McDonald's restaurants three times per day, eating every item on the chain's menu at least once. Spurlock consumed an average of 20.9 megajoules or 5,000 kcal (the equivalent of 9.26 Big Macs) per day during the experiment. An intake of around 2,500 kcal within a healthy balanced diet is more generally recommended for a man to maintain his weight.[3] As a result, the then-32-year-old Spurlock gained 11.1 kilograms (24 lb), a 13% body mass increase, increased his cholesterol to 230 mg/dL (6.0 mmol/L), and experienced mood swings, sexual dysfunction, and fat accumulation in his liver. It took Spurlock fourteen months to lose all the weight gained from his experiment using a vegan diet supervised by his then-girlfriend, a chef who specializes in gourmet vegan dishes.>>

I know that 5000 cal per day is excessive, folks, but don't expect me to respond to raves for a macD's diet. We are allowed macD's meals ONCE a month, mostly for the fries. <grin>

How informative. On the other hand I know a Man named Crystalhead that can eat McD's 20 times a day, snort bacon grease and suck back 2 buckets of KFC than eat 1 gallon of ice cream and guzzle 2 liters of cola to become a human Float for 3 hours and the end result will always be the same. I LOVE THAT GARBAGE and am currently seeking it out. Need to maintain yah know. Cheers.

Well, my wife says that Jollibees in the US tastes different from the ones in the Philippines. Maybe just a case of "there's no place like home"!

Why would you expect identity, or even similarity. There are McDs in India, but nary a one that serves beef, or pork in any form.

Thank you for added information. My home is the Philippines and if I can't
There are many many franchises and Dumaguete is also rapidly growing. It seems more unlikely that as that growth happens that there will not be one or a few of them that carry the franchise consistency. Out of the many answers so far I have gathered that Mc D's is NOT identical. That leaves many more open for a yea or nay which is all my original question seeks. Cheers

McDonald's (and pet much every other food franchise) adjusts their recipes and menu to cater to the local populations tastes. McDonald's in the US, Germany, Dubai, Singapore, Philippines, etc all have slightly different tastes and menus. Even within the US you can sometimes have sightly different menus.

That was a ridiculous and completely pointless documentary. If I ate 5000 calories of only grilled chicken breast sandwiches every day for a month I would be in just as bad of shape as that guy was eating that McDonald's diet and would have gained just as much weight. A calorie is a calorie is a calorie. And eating only one or two for items every single day is going to leave you malnourished. The guy was a complete idiot...or he was not and knew that he was going to get sick and chose to lie to everyone for views and money.
