Since one earlier post is in ex-pat, and Glenda's is down to vaccines, I'm just stupid enuf to think I should start a new thread, hoping to stick to REAL NEWS ONLY:

SO FAR, I have seen NO NEWER INFO than:
INCUBATION PERIOD is up to 14 days
Since it may be contagious PRIOR to symptoms, the ONLY way of stopping the pandemic is to quarantine (or self quarantine) for 14 days. This is the way they stopped the SARS and MERS, by stopping continued transmission.

Has anyone seen any OFFICIAL info (please no filipino neighbor gossip) on the status of the people at the Dumaguete hotel and the Dauin resort who were exposed on Jan 23-24th (11 days ago). There MUST be some news by now, even "no symptoms" ?? Is there an official website ?? No official announcement is criminally stupid.

The death in manila is the boyfriend of the Chinese tourist who came together thru Cebu and Dumaguete 11 days ago.

 

The third paragraph of y0ur link confirms the death of the male. The press release does not say from where the 44 (newer sources say 52, 3 from Dumaguete) PUI (patients under investigation) are.

If PAL, TigerAir and Cebu-Pacific don't have passenger lists with contact info from over a week ago, then all the companies are criminally stupid, corrupt, or totally incompetent.

 

The Wuhan Institute of Virology lab is located just 20km from the fish market that is the claimed source of the virus. The first 14 reported cases had no contact with the fish market. For the past year the WIV has been using CRISPR technology to modify the corona virus in bats. They actually published several papers on their work. Analysis of the RNA of this new virus shows that it is a bat originated virus, and has a new gene element in the RNA structure that effects the proteins of the spikes on the virus making it extra virulent. The lab that did this analysis says this is not a genetic anomaly that could have happened by spontaneous mutation. The new gene element discovered in the virus is nearly identical to a gene from the HIV virus. A cocktail of HIV medications has so far been found to be the most promising treatment.

Okay, who knows, maybe all of that stuff is just coincidental.

JP, picky picky picky.. Sorry, I was just incredibly cranky this am cuz EVERYTHING in the Philippine news is total BS about the virus, just like the chinese news. ZERO friggin news from the Dumaguete Health office about how many are sick, how many PUI, how many quarantined. Very frustrating when I'm used to ACCURATE COMPLETE news like in the states (gag...). <BIG GRIN>. Maybe I'll just boycott EVERY DUMAGUETE BUSINESS until I find out what's really happening. Let the mayor work that into his coverups.... cripes.... Then somebody writes a press release asking people who flew with the tourist who died to please self-report. God, I hope an airline didn't publish that. Are Philippine airlines truly that totally criminally incompetent ??
