its definitely a place to visit. its good now and its going to get better based on russel and jess's plans!! i would go back just for the french fries!

Acquiring these ingredients (some are, of course, readily available ), should be entered as an olympic event. However, there are one or two more places to try. It's our day off today so , wife willing as it's her day off , too. I'll check if they're open . You never know.

 

Good morning shabbynomad70 , I'm not 77 , I'm actually 68. 50 or so years ago, when I started training as a commis chef ( I'm still learning ) , after work my fellow trainees and I would visit a local hostelry for a beer or two. It was The Crown, the address escapes me at the moment. On the bar was a sign which I never forgot..
"This HOUSE is dedicated towards those splendid FELLOWS who make DRINKING a pleasure, who reach CONTENTMENT before CAPACITY and who, whatever the DRINK, can take it, hold it and STILL be GENTLEMEN ".

Pub etiquette was very different back then, most pubs, not all, were pleasant, respectable and respectful . Respectful whereby swearing in front of a man's wife, or indeed any woman, was a mistake. sometimes a dangerous mistake. Unfortunately this is all lost in the mists of time and these days the conversations I hear are loaded with expletives.
We are a humble establishment but not so humble that I don't check for families or folks that are looking uncomfortable in these circumstances. If so I would quietly tell ( not ask ), the aforementioned characters to show respect and possibly find some self respect , or leave.
Just recently an English 'gentleman' has decided to frequent Zak's Place, he's cheap, demanding, and noisily foul mouthed. I'm aching to find a solid reason to rid the place of him. I hope he reads this as he will know.
My mindset hasn't changed from 50 years ago.

 

hey man, good timing!! we are planning to arrive your place monday a m between ten and eleven. we will bring our own fish per our discussion. i will txt an update with a more accurate ETA.

i often make the observation that man as developed over the eons is just not prepared for the information age. i love the internet. instant gratification on any subject. but what cost. its so easy to be as crude and offensive as you want on the net it seems to cross over too easily into the real world. we are losing the concept of accountability, contemplation, the sanctity of our personal lives.

ha, and who cares really?? well, we enjoy our last visit and sure we will enjoy tomorrow. have a good nights sleep. still the best treatment for what ails you

 

Good ! After a short investigation , expect full cloud cover but no rain until 13:00 to 14:00 when there's a 70% chance of rain. I have a new assistant starting. If rain does rear its ugly head we have a small covered area to the left of the car wash.

hi russell, well we will bring three portions of boned bangus. two for us today and one for you to try on a customer or personally. this is just an experiment for us and we are excited to see how bangus tastes after receiving your cooking technique for "fish and chips". we will plan to arrive around ten thirty this morning and so far we are on target.

just fyi, our cost per generous plateable portion will be about 110 pesos. i would imagine your cost on a commercial basis to be somewhat less than that if you chose to offer this product. we are not trying to negotiate any price with you, we will pay the menu price just for the experience. i hope i can watch you cook (from a distance of course) tat will want white rice and i hope for more fries

we will also like to try the dorado on another visit when you are offering that
