Next month my motorcycle registration is due for renewal. It'll be my first time to do it in Dumaguete (but not in The Philippines). Previously in Cebu and Davao I have given a few hundred pesos to a local to sort it all out for me, rather than have to go through the hassle of all the waiting etc if doing it myself.

So my question is, could anyone recommend such a local who has done this for you previously? Someone reliable and honest.

    Many thanks in advance.

I have renewed for several years. I must "smog", or "smoke test" as they say here, first. The smoke testers offer to take it to registration, and some on this board have said they do it this way, or for some reason don't. I take the test results to my insurance company (Stronghold, opposite Qyosko Cafe) and they process the registration with my yearly insurance renewal, for no extra charge. Some time later they invite me to pick up the new sticker. By the way, I purchase maximum liability insurance. Gladly, I've never used it. But every year it is more important.

Well, when you have more money than time do as you are looking for. I do the same as @jim787. My insurance company is also Stronghold, they send me an advanced alert when it's time to renew my registration. I do the smoke test by myself and after to Stronghold who arrange the LTO procedures. When done they tell me to pick up the new registration with or without sticker.

I remember, many years ago, when we had to get our car tag renewed, we went to the smog test place and we were told by some friends to ask the guys there, and they would take care of everything. So that is what we did, and sure enough we asked them and they did!! They told us when to come back to pick up the papers. Saved us a lot of hassle, but that was several years ago...……….

Just go to the smoke test place and they can take care of it. Only a hundred pesos or so on top of the renewal fee.

The insurance company, a smoke test station is dealing with, is much more expensive what I pay for @Stronghold. The fee is 230 peso both for a car or a motorbike.

Good to hear. I went to 2 smoke test stations. Both asked 1500 for the full service. May I ask which one asked only 230 Peso?
