@the smoke test station I only have the smoke test done. With the outcome/result of the smoke test I go to Stronghold, where I do pay the insurance, renewal fee LTO plus the handling fee of 230. Tariffs the various smoke test stations are charging everywhere almost same price.
Lol I never actually looked at what they charged me. I just assumed it was around P100-200 since I never noticed any real difference in price from when I did it myself.
Have you ever made a claim with them? If so how was your experience? What do you pay per year? (For a scooter/motorcycle?).
In 2010, when I bought a new car, it was covered by an insurance of Stronghold, it was included in the price of the car. That was an all comprehensive insurance (all risk). Next year when I did the renewal just choose for TPL. That all comprehensive insurance has a 7000 peso own risk. Well making damage that will cost 7k is more than a couple of scratches. I don't say I am a perfect driver but all my life never involved with a traffic accident causing big damage or personal injuries. So given that fact a TPL is enough for me. I am abroad now and when back in the PH (when flights arriving at MNL or CEB are no longer banned coz of the current situation with that corona virus), will check it out how much I do pay for my car and bike. Papers not @hand here.
I just realize I also save these amounts in a spreadsheet, so prices are as follows: TPL for a Honda Scoopy 323 peso and for a Mitsubishi Mirage 633 peso.
Done it myself several times it just takes time sitting in the LTO watching the clerks access FB and occasionally working. Last year got insurance renewed went for smoke test just up from Dock area. The man there did the rest about 200 peso. No LTO for me again!!
