NORECO II is saddened by the unfortunate demise of a child in Sitio Cansuy-ong, Brgy. Novallas, Tanjay City yesterday, March 8. Upon investigation it was found out that the service drop wire which caused the electrocution was from a flying/illegal connection.

Very sad indeed a innocent child got electrocuted by an illegal connection, maybe your meter readers can start making notes about houses and structures than have electrical connections yet no meters. Infront of my house in Mangnao there are 4 houses that have no meter yet they have TV and satellite internet. I spoke to the meter reader and he just shrugged his shoulders about it..so much about systems loss charges..

Does your meter have a main switch you can flip off? If so turn it off and see who comes to check on it.

It is big time against the law to have a switch between the service drop and the meter.

There is usually a switch or breaker just after the meter.

I know of people who have a jumper to another house and repeatedly asked to get a meter etc and repeatedly ignored. I wonder what the figures are for these places,im sure noreco knkw about alot of them as they are supposed to have some team out there to check on this.
Probably sleeping or eating rice like the jeep guys mostly do!

There is a switch at the top of the pole before the transformer which the guys from Noreco pull with a bamboo extension pole to isolate the entire installation, meter and everything but what is being discussed here is illegal connection and in that instance there will be no switch anywhere. With care, a connection is easily made without switching of the power source.

Normally I wouldn't condone such behavior but that is just funny. Hopefully they get away with that for quite some time.
