thanks...seem to remember some blurb on the menu about learning from mum/being Tamil/Malaysian ex pat. I’m stuck overseas so can’t (re) check it out. Good to know he ships stuff in, I can’t find long grain rice for love nor money. I bring 10kg of the stuff back so the asawa can do dum biryani. Perhaps he’ll do a deal next time I’m back. Cheers. Atta flour is another bulk need. God I need curry...

To give an idea of the price in Europe for comparison, in the supermarket a small carton with 400 grams is sold for 1,39 euro, converted into peso around 185 peso a kg.

On the subject of Indian food, I twice visited Roti Boss recently. The rotis themselves were excellent and very authentic, just like the rotis I used to eat in Malaysia for breakfast.
The biryani and curries, however, were very disappointing. Very bland, watery, lacking in authentic spices. Quite frankly, I could cook a better curry at home, and I'm not a good cook.

Biryani point is a million times better!

Today we ordered 2 different dishes. The quantity was good and the quality was ok. Meaning not bad but for sure not on a high level. The naan bread was not good at all. As the Indian food is one of my favorite, I will go to Biryani Point again. Giving them a second chance by choosing different dishes.

There is a quite good Indian place right in town called Kapitan's Kebab across the street from Hotel Nicanor. Good prices, everything cooked to order and they serve beer too. I like the chicken biryani, half order is something like 160P and tasty.
