it seems in Manila / Luzon there is a huge delay of releasing the promised aide to the poor people. some comments about that in the local news sound really frightening:
"Before people robbed a 7/11 or other shops for the money.Soon they will rob a shop for the little food left in there "
"Whether you like or not. If they extend this useless quarantine. We will explode like Venezuela."
"COMING SOON > Hunger RIOTs and passive resistance against the duterte's failed government will come in small groups and then to a complete CIVIL UNREST.

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE due to hunger, no medical attention, sick people walking around, arrest, violence"
"Not only people are hungry but angry.
They’re angry over the lack of that most basic necessity of life--food--. It’s only a matter of time starving people will walk out on streets protesting or spark for a rebellion. The revolt of the hungry."
"A HUNGRY STOMACH KNOWS NO LAW!"
"2 weeks I have waited for governmenet assistance. Two weeks I have no income.
All I get from governmenet is 4KG of rice, 2 tin sardines, 1 packet of noodle. That does not last long for a family. In our town we dont even have running water to keep ourselves clean.

Im more than happy to join in when more people mass on the streets. Im more than happy to loot if the government can not give us what is needed.

The government have stolen from us for generations in the name of pork and corrupt*on and now as a nation all we ask for is a little back in return in times of this crisis. They dont care and they never will. They only ever care about themselves. I have a family to feed just like everybody else."

just some of the quotes following this article in the Manila Inquirer from today:

What I've seen this week is that mornings are waaay too busy, everywhere. Well, at Lee, City Mall and both Robinsons. Things *seemed* to slow down a bit yesterday afternoon, at least at Lee. Dropped the wife off about 1pm and she was in & out in an hour.

I really hope you are wrong but my gut tells me you are right.
Maybe the word for this week is anarchy, next week night be ANARCHY (in caps lock).
According to my wife (FB) a barangay captain (somewhere in Luzon) was shot for being a d1ckhead. I've read a local post where one guy in Dumaguete got bounced back and forth between two barangays. He lived in one and was registered to vote in another.

Anyone been to any of the grocers in the afternoon like 3-4pm last 2 days? Already did my stocking days ago but a couple odds and ends I could use I forgot.

As far as civil unrest its going to get pretty bad if this continues more then 2 weeks. Even 2 weeks may be pushing it. Still nothing is going to change unless politicians and their families are strung up but this is the Philippines so that won't happen (and NOT saying I want that to happen).

The government is clueless on what to do and they are stuck in a bad position of being damned no matter what they do because sheeple will always complain. People ARE going to die and NOTHING they do is going to stop that. Even the measures they are taking now are pretty useless besides giving hospitals more breathing room unless a cure or vaccine come into full play and available widely here. If they do nothing people will complain that if they did something less would have maybe died. If they did some but not everything yet same complaint. If they do everything they risk destroying the economy and poor people starving but at least they can pretend like maybe they saved lives from covid19 deaths.

I have just found out I am a senior :arghh:
In the UK I could not claim my state pension until I was 66 and for some people I know that are a few years younger than me it's 67 (I am 63)
It used to be 65 for men and 60 for women in the UK but a few years ago the government decided they could not afford that and so the population that could not afford to retire early can work till they drop :dead:.
So here the age is 60 and that's me as of tomorrow confined to quarters .:wtf:

For the purpose of this quarantine a senior is some 65 or over or maybe over 65 I don't exactly remember as I'm only 64. That is clearly stated in the governors order.
In Davyl200 post he said his barangay captain did not even know the governor had issued an executive order. Maybe your captain didn't read it either.
