    Good afternoon,
We're taking this quarantine very seriously.

Please don't ask for any food of any description from now on.

Until this lockdown/quarantine has been lifted we're just going to look after ourselves. (We don't really care about anyone else, can't cook if you're dead ). There will be no unnecessary contact with other people at all.

Anyone hear what the end game is to all of this quarantine business? Is it to stop the spread or to just slow it? If it is to stop the spread, then expect this for a very long time because they won't know until they get better testing access. Also, I hope they have some plan for their economy, because an indefinite quarantine will completely destroy most of this city's economy, it just isn't sustainable.

If it is to slow the spread, then I would say, they have probably done this. One new case reported by an OFW in Bagacay. Considering the total population and the total amount of cases does this make sense considering the consequences of a protracted closure.

    Wrong!
If they stop the spread and then only let people on the island after they go through a 14 day quarantine there will be no infected people coming here to get it started again.

Contact tracing and testing will manage the few who get through.

Yes, the local hospitals have applied for accreditation to do testing but it is the 14 day quarantine at the border that will save the economy.

I also hope they will see reason rather soon and at least lift that stupid enhanced quarantine. Cannot be good for all the people to sit home doing nothing and getting handouts from the govt...

This pandemic started with only a few cases. It seems logical (at least to me) they need to get the number of infected down to zero.
There will be some herd immunity which I understand will minimize future spreading rates. Herd immunity may not stop the threat completely.

Impossible. This virus is likely here to stay. Too many countries doing completely idiotic things, or down right denying it is a thing, to get cases down to zero. Even with a vaccine you have idiotic anti-vaxers who will screw it up for everyone else. Chances of every country in the world legislating mandatory vaccines (or even be able to provide them) are slim to none.

    I don't know.
But we can get it down to zero (or a manageable small number) here on Negros island. Let the rest of the fools suffer.

Anti-vaxers. There is a two word solution they might buy into..
    Tide Pods.
You are right @Wrye the infection may never reach zero (wishful thinking here), but when a vaccine becomes available this virus could go the way of polio. Not withstanding the anti-vaxers.
