Seems like it will be up to the governor to make the decision to extend or nor extend the N.O. quarantine. Are there new local virus cases this week? I would hope, if there is no EQ, certain precautions are still taken, such as masks, social distancing, and if you feel sick go to the hospital. With no mass testing available, peeling the onion might be necessary. The current Dumaguete entrance system is not sustainable.
It all boils down to one thing and one thing only (IMHO) WHATS IN IT FOR THEM AND THEIR ILK ,THEY like most of the locals are taking hits and losses, albeit on a different scale entirely, and will claw back the losses by hook or by crook ASAP
It's just not a big problem at all in Visayas and Mindanao. This week into next is projected to be the worst week in many places around the world but then a dramatic reversal in the positive direction. I can't see the ECQ going any further than the end of April. I hope lifted sooner here, if safe to do so. Perhaps just continue limiting travel from abroad and Luzon? These projections were once again lowered also. This will not go on for much longer. For now at least. There are concerns of seasonal resurgence of course. https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america
I think the question is actually 'will our quarantine be extended?' 2 or 3 days ago I was still convinced that an extension of the ECQ was pretty much a certainty. Now I'm not so sure. That chart above is updated and published each day, and there's been a very clear and strong trend. Now regardless of what we may think of the numbers validity, I think these are the numbers that the government is managing by. I think it's going to be difficult to extend the ECQ when these numbers are all zeros, and we're getting there quite quickly. I also saw something today (although it was from the 7th) about Dumaguete City Hall being disinfected prior to the resumption of services on the 13th. I still haven't seen any indications that Duma Mayor Remollo was ever in a hurry to shut things down. Anyway, I'm starting to think that the ECQ might not be extended after all. At least in it's current form. Still need to keep the provincial borders closed of course, and maybe we'd just go back to whatevertheinitialquarentinethingywascalled, but it would be nice to see things loosen up a bit within the province...
Apologise if offended man was ranting a bit, been a tough few weeks all round just seems to me that the powers that be, will only do whats in the best interests for themselves, whether financially or politically
With the numbers given above, barangay resources could monitor the 2021 in-house quarantined people for 14 days. The hospitals should be able to manage the 83 cases with ILI/MARI. Unfortunately I don't believe they are correct due to "no test / no case" issue. With only 34,000 tested in a country of 100M, I expect them to continue locking us down until the system breaks. My gut tells me it will get worse still before it gets better, maybe not down here, but surely in the North, but we will likely pay, I think the local politicians will only follow suit. This really sucks.
