Can anyone explain why - yes WHY? does Noreco II consistently switch off the electric supply without notification? Yesterday Candau-ay had 3 brownouts from 6pm - 9pm and then all through the night it was on and off regularly, finally again at 6.30am it was off again and each time it lasts for 1 hour or so..... What is the purpose of so many brownouts? can`t Noreco work through the day to fix things? How can i do my online job if Noreco suddenly pull the plug? this is ruining my computer (brand new) and also refrigerator not to mention my job, which has now been threatened if situations don`t improve. Doesn't Noreco believe in communication? What`s needed is stricter regulations in dgte or a rival company to make them behave better. Think i`m gonna pay my bill noreco? Think again! You are actually in breach of contract. The message is simple C O M M U N I CA T E..!!!!!!

Take it on the chin, there is no competition, the infrastructure is 3rd world, I have wires close to me nailed on to mango trees, Noreco dont have to answer to anyone, if your life is dependent on consistent connection, you better get yourself some sort of plan B (generator)

5 MINUTES COMPLAINING ABOUT NORECO IS 5 MINUTES WASTED

Unannounced brownouts are due to a failure of the grid. (Take a look at the rat nest of cables on the poles for one example of why this "grid" constantly fails. If that garbage is what they let everyone see just imagine what is going on with the stuff that is out of sight and out of mind.)

    Mismanagement/incompetence/don't give a f*ck.

A combination of universal power supplies, generator and backup internet options (if your ISP goes down during brownouts...but most don't). Infrastructure has long been a problem in the developing world. It has improved quite a bit since I first got here but it is still something you should have factored in to your decision to work online from the Philippines. While it is annoying it really is nothing new.

I guess you better get a few UPS, power regulator and a generator then. NORECO certainly isn't going to give a crap about your business or loss of it from their negligence and incompetence as it seems they barely give a crap about their own.

Wish in one hand, sh*t in the other, see which one fills up first.

Yeah, you will or you won't have electricity.

:biglol: Oh? Can you post that contract here? I would bet money there is language in there that makes sure you have a 0% chance of winning any civil lawsuit.

That above pretty much covers it.

On a side note; stay outta the way of yellow jeeps with ladders, they maybe on the way to solve your problem.

Can we close this thread now? Venting on Noreco only raises the temp round here.

    I don't know.
You did choose to live in Candau-ay.

The farther away you are from the downtown BPOs the worse your electric and communication infrastructure.

The BPOs employ thousands of workers so there is a focus on keeping up the infrastructure in the areas where they operate.

When I recently paid a bill at the Market Place office, at the counter, I ran my finger down the bill and said, 'lots of information here, but I cannot see the line that says...'discount for loss of service''. The response was, 'you only pay for what you use, sir'.

In other words, forget about the concept of 'service', no matter what platitudes are pinned on the payment centre wall. They believe that so long as they send some power down the line, some of the time, job done.

Incidentally, 10 brownouts in three days in Balugo, so you are not alone!

Wait till the rainy season kicks in then the always find it hard to keep the power on due their their lack of preventative maintenance through the summer. Its the usual attitude fix it when it breaks.
