There's a video press interview on NegOr Provincial fb from last night with a senior health person explaining why NegOr cannot yet be considered to be 'Covid-19 free'. This is because of the small number of tests being carried out as resources are targeted at worse areas (e.g.Cebu) and the number of swab test results outstanding. Begs the question how they will ever know if the Province is free of the virus, as 100% of the population will never be tested, nowhere near. Specifically mentions May 15th as end of current QCG period, but hints at continued mask wearing and social distancing. Hopefully that will mean an end to current age discrimination, but we'll see.
My friend (52 years old) went to the Robinson Place yesterday for a socially-distanced haircut at Cuttin' Loose. Enforcers at the entrances turning away seniors (asking for ID). Inside the hair salon another customer (foreigner) walks in who is obviously over 60. My friend asked the barber how that guy got in. Answer: They don't challenge people they think look the right age. Real answer: pesos talk. If you left Bacolod to avoid corruption, you should have left the country as well. Perhaps Dumaguete City is not as corrupt as other cities, but corruption is rampant at other levels as you see is evident.
I was just wondering why we have not heard from the Emerald City and the Wizard of OZ myself. Maybe he took my advice and decided to stay home and let Imperial Manila and Gov Gwen make all of the decisions.
When the last batch of handout money comes from manila, and is nestled nicely in the bangko, then the ban will be lifted, and all will be back to normal, no one will bother to ask for the 6k because its all over ....hulat ug kita
Just read that since May 5 there have been 7 people shot to death in Negros Oriental. Since the COVID "outbreak" we have had 4 reported cases and 2 deaths. Chances of being shot a killed better than either contracting the disease or dying from it.
