I can offer lessons in dealing with boredom in war zones. Maybe that could translate to fighting quarantine boredom in the civilian sector as well?

My specialty is the wine you can buy here. What I will pass on is whatever wine you buy here, you have to suffer through the first two glasses and then the third glass is sort of acceptable. I normally buy wines from Australia or Chile in the 500p range. Today the owner of the deli I buy wine from suggested I try a French Cabernet, about the same price range so I will give it a try

I can make a bloody good long island ice tea. Does that count?

Otherwise I'm pretty useless at everything!

I think that counts. That's about 7 more ingredients than my drink specialty. (Rum Coke)

When I quit smoking some years ago I endeavored to become the best brownie maker I could be.... Needless to say I never had to think what to give for friends birthdays, Christmas gifts or any other special occasion and was always on the invite list.... sadly my expertise is useless here but always have the memories

This has set me thinking (bloody dangerous). We all must have some kind of hobby, or at least an interest that keeps us going during darker times (like now).

Believe it or not, my hobby is not creating bus timetables, that was just a job of some time ago, but my real passion is playing the drums. Not that good, coz I don't practice enough, but passable and acquaintances that hear me playing and know 'stuff all' about it say it sounds good.

Are there any other drummers out there that might want to share experience, skills or knowledge? Or musicians looking for a drummer to jam with? I would be up for it.

Same goes for any other hobbies and interests other members may have - walking, motorcycling, pruning the garden, drinking (I think there's a few here with that one, including myself). Some people find it much better to fulfil their interests with others they get along with. I certainly did as a motorcyclist.

Not picking on you, I enjoy your posts. It just reminded me of a drummer I knew in Cebu. He was really good. We used to give him a baseball bat and a tennis racket and pay him to kill rats. That was his specialty.
As far as my own specialty, I used to specialize in free advice, especially unsolicited free advice. After I moved here I met so many geniuses, ex special forces, ex millionaires and ex captains of industry that I decided I was still on the bunny slopes, so I quit.

If you have a drum kit, I would like to see an image of the set. If you do post one (and have one) I would follow that post of my entire electrical guitar gear. For me to load my gear and come to a Jam at your location...... I would only insist to have a stand up microphone as I do sing......and hope there is plenty of power and no volume issues. Imagine RUSH'S CLOSER TO THE HEART SONG. It is complex and I can play that all day laying on my back with my eyes closed in the dark.......... so I do play and play loud and have plenty of style. And still I am being modest. I myself will soon be seeking a (best) drummer and (awesome) singer, base guitar and key-board player to put together a serious band. Looking forward to a drum kit post.....Cheers!

For me, my life has been serving the the USMC, then making spark plugs (champion), a very brief time selling cars (hated it but learned a lot), and now as a supervisor slicing and packaging deli meat mainly for Subway, Aldi, Walmart, Safeway, and Kroger.

In free time I enjoy taking care of the yard/garden and reading. I am retiring in 7 years- Lord willing- and am trying to amass at a minimum 1,000 books in our house in Bacong for when I retire. About a 1/3rd of the way there!
