IMHO it seems to indicate two people are carrying their masks and who knows about the others who have there hands behind their back. Thus it could be inferred that it was taken sometime over the last few months during the corona crisis. Also, perhaps all have been tested but because the test results are so long in being released, who knows what their infection risk could be after the test. None-the-less, the wearing of masks and social distancing seems to be totally ignored.

Having read through these replies re trolling, and followed some other posts on this subject of calling someone "stupid", it appears to me that I am the one being referred to as a troll. For using the word "stupid" I am sorry for using that word. It was in the heat of the moment and on reflection, I think "misinformed" may have been the word to use. I do feel strongly on the matter of precautions to be taken by everyone who chooses to go out and about in the community taking the risk of infecting others particularly as the infection cannot readily be seen on oneself for quite some time and of course, catching the infection from others and in turn passing it around. I wont go any further except to reiterate that Corona 19 is dangerous and I apologize to those I offended.

This will always be the case with communication - whomsoever owns and/or moderates it has to maintain a set of standards. These standards may be in part enshrined in law, so that communication does not become illegal. With privately owned forms of communication, such as this Forum, it is entirely up to the owners and moderators to set their own standards - it gives us two choice: 1) Follow those standards 2) Find another Forum.

I am sure this Forum was never designed to become a means of anonymously attacking other people. Also, it is not a monopoly as anyone can set up their own Forum and allow personal attacks if they wish - I am guessing that within a short time it would consist of a mere handful of members, all of whom derive joy from being nasty to each other. All the decent members, who seek information, share common ideas and hobbies, etc., would have left because that would not be why they joined.

I think we are fortunate to have this Forum and must respect its rules - going outside the Forum if we think we cannot post here as we please.

The point of some admins is that DI is a privately owned site, therefore freedom of speech as defined and guaranteed in some government constitutions does not apply here. This of course is true. What DI has done is to open up various "forums" where people may "speak" but not unhindered by constitutional protections. So, the average forum participant enters the world of DI and makes certain statements. Being private, the poster originally has no idea of the suggested political leanings of the owner and most members but posting against such leanings may be construed as "trolling" because it offends the majority viewpoints of the regular participants. So he is messaged offline and given a warning in preparation for his eventual removal.

He comes in thinking we have a "forum", ie:

    Definition of forum

1a: the marketplace or public place of an ancient Roman city forming the center of judicial and public business
b: a public meeting place for open discussion The club provides a forum for people interested in local history.
c: a medium (such as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas

The key phrase here is "open discussion". I notice that regulars here who have succeeded in attaining several years of membership are acutely aware of how "open" they can be. A little bit beyond that limit is simply "trolling". Yes, I agree, "trolling" can be used as a censorship buzzword. It is certainly a legal and it is certainly a private kind of censorship but that does not fit the meaning of the term "forum" either. Instead, the discussion group it becomes more like a "klatch" and if you don't like it, your account will be terminated.

At the risk of "beating a dead horse," I'll throw in a couple comments. (you have to be over 60 to understand that politically incorrect phrase):

Every forum of which I am a part (half a dozen or so), require everyone to be respectful of others. ("You will not attack others--even if you strongly disagree with their views.") Keep your comments focused on the issue, not the poster.

"Misinformed" is a very strong word. As I've always said, you can always find a blog somewhere on the internet to back your position. "Facts" may, at one point in the past, been the latest information, but later proved incorrect. It's a simple matter to direct the poster to the latest research.

"Trolling," of which I have been accused when discussing politics (not here), is a fine line, for which the moderator must use his discretion carefully, and usually does. Admins are hard working, and we should respect their decision. If you are accused of "trolling" often, you might re-evaluate your posts' wording.

You might consider restricting your posts to "controversial subjects," which I believe was set up for "ranters" and "semi-trollers."

From The Dane, Rhoody, Larry, Rye83 ownership, I don’t think the DI Forum has changed that much.
Membership has changed and with it new and insightful topics. Helpful posts are frequent and interesting debates and points of view make for good reading, particularly while we are in lock down. Maybe not good for everyone but what is. Ayo-ayo.
