I think not necessarily that ministers actually have to have hands on work experience in their field, although it sure might help. It's more important that they have a personality that allows them to acknowledge that their staff, who usually have a background in that field, has that knowledge. There's always specialists to solve field specific problems, they just have to let them do their work and actually listen to them, while focusing on representing the results of that work to the public. Unfortunately being able to win elections or move up in a political system in other ways seems to correlate with personal traits that go very much against this idea.
Cora has just told me that she picked up some news that it is now June 8th for manila Flights But................... she has gone out now but I will ask where she got this from
Went out today no problem, was stopped at one checkpoint for temp check but no mention of age... free at last huzzah !!
I'm 68, have been going out the whole time. Have a pass, but I go out even if it is a day the pass isn't in effect. Not most places looking for a pass, unless you are going to a place like Lees, Rob's, Hypermart or some other larger store. Now I have been critical of many of the 'orders' and 'decisions', but when this morning I read that the flights had been put on hold to and from Manila ( a hotbed) I agreed. We will see what tomorrow brings, since it is very fluid.
If you only see how these people in the government behave at check points and elsewhere, you will know what I mean about power-hungry people.
There was such a cancellation after PAL'S announcement of flight resumption. So uncoordinated. I know people who had already bought tickets for Manila then out of the country to visit family members but they were so dismayed for the nth time since this trip had been postponed so many times since March.
