Does anyone know of any local wildlife/national park, hiking or provincial trails that are currently open and accessable? I prefer they be in the mountains/jungle to provide a bit of a cooler and more shaded walk.

The only one I have done was up to Puncak Tanawan. It's 5k to the top, there is a rest at the top, maybe open. You can check that one out, not the most shady but a good hike and rewarding view at the top.

Didn't know how to delete the first one.

I have heard of that one but never been up there. Might give it a go if I can find out if it is open.

I recently went to Antubang Yanggilihan Park in Valencia. Didn't make it too much further than the park sign due to it being muddy and not having proper foot attire for the trail. If I do that again I would drive to the end of the paved road and see how far that trail goes.

The Japanese Shrine is a good hike up and back around to Valencia.

Camp Lookout (?) is a decent walk up as well, although it is currently closed...though I don't remember it ever being open.

Puncak is good if the weather is good and as mentioned the views are great, was up there a few years back but did manage to ride the bike up.

I think you would definitely enjoy Puncak given the different area and view. The trail is pretty defined as well. I am sure you can hike it now, even if the rest isn't open.

The turn for puncak is where you turn for the shooting range.

I just got a txt back from some blogger that told me they re-closed Puncak due to the new Covid cases.

You probably know Casaroro Falls already, but here's a mention for completeness. Three hundred-plus iron stairway down and up again. Have a picnic, worth it. Entrance up past Forest Camp, left where the road divides (right goes toward Japanese Shrine).

The reason, the authorities is afraid you swim in the creek down there, more fun in the way of thinking in the Philippines
