Follow up. Wife went to get the check done yesterday. Got there just before 6 and was given number 14. Not to bad except for one little problem. The day before they had the infamous "off-line". So there were a bunch there from the day before.

She finally came home around 9:30 with no test. But the owner told her to come back today and she would be taken care of.

Went back again this morning, said it was real crowded but the owner was true to his word, she was back home just after 7 with the inevitable 'passed' certificate.

    Can't wait for next year.

When I first came to Dumaguete 2001, the smoke down past Lee Superplaza was unbelievable. Smoke testing has made one hell of a change together with the abolishment of two stroke pedicabs. From where I stand, smoke testing works but in the Philippines there are always ways to get smelly trucks and buses passed as you well know.

Correct me when I am wrong, but seen two stroke pedicabs still operating unless use is no longer allowed very recently.

Yes, have seen a couple but I believe they are not allowed but who checks them? You know the Philippines.

Save-Air emission service...Go south from Robinsons. a click or two, after the Shell gas station (On the right) you will see it on the left. They will do it all, incl the compulsory insurance if you don't have your own. Come back in a week. BTW, I get my ins from M Lhullier. 640p for cars 340p for bikes. why pay more, its next to useless anyway.
