I noticed in many reports, for a whole range of problems, that 'virgin' is often the healthiest.

well i have reached the age where grasping at straws has become a religeon so i have virgin coconut oil on my shelf next to extra virgin olive oil, fish oil, johnny walker, carters little liver pills, bootleg cialis from the boulevard and cold pressed testosterone from pigs testicles made in dapitan. not sure which one works the best but i still woke up this morning so i am sticking with this menu for now.

Yesterday, the Governor of Iloilo is putting all of Negros off limits to his Province because we have to many cases.

I have learned just a few things from this virus, now going into 7 months or so.

Wearing a mask is not a bad thing depending on the situation.

This virus does not appear to be seasonal as the flu is, it doesn't seem to care how hot or cold it is, it still remains infectious.

As with all infectious diseases, personal hygiene is always a good choice.

And, being a responsible person is important, it isn't just about you.

Oh, and you can't fix stupid.

13 more cases announced today. All LSIs; all quarantined.

I think we should take off our hats to the Provincial Government now as after a dodgy start when they were slow to take up preventative measures on returning citizens they have now done a d*mn good job in containing positive cases to the LSIs only. There has been no spread to the general population save for a couple of cases where LSIs/returning military (or police?) from Cebu have passed on to an immediate family member. That's quite an achievement when you look at some other areas. The key thing is that this needs to be continued strictly until there are no more LSIs/OFWs/ROFs/returning police coming back to the province - when that will be, who knows.

The first line against the virus was to wear face masks (in sensible situations - no-one ever said you had to wear one if no one is around you) and social-distancing (second in line to face masks in my opinion). They did both, but later than they should have. Face masks were disputed by so many and now everyone knows that was a mistake.

Then shut down the borders (which they did - but left some unwise exceptions).

Now we are at the stage of having to allow some returning citizens to go back to their provinces - the ONLY way is guarded quarantine. If they failed to do that, as they did initially, then the virus enters the general population.

So it seems all major points are now covered (minus the vaccine, but some glimmers of hope on the horizon) - it is essential they hold fast to these protective measures they took months to get to.

So, great now - but almost every government took too long (it is now said that locking down the UK just one week earlier - instead of allowing hundreds of thousands to crowd together in stadia!) would have saved 50% of the deaths. That's 22,000 people would (perhaps) still be alive and their families not grieving. IMO, if they had also made face masks compulsory from the start, the deaths now would be perhaps 5,000 or far less.
