The thread was locked and will fade into the archives to be forgotten. Please refrain from similar topics in the future.

Here is the forum staff list for future reference:

Personal opinion and admin/moderator duties do not always line up. The problem, at least on my end, wasn't so much the activity itself, it is the promotion/encouragement/hinting around of sex tourism on this site. There are plenty of forums that fill the niche of promoting, giving advice and encourage discussions on sex tourism in the Philippines. It is exactly the same as porn in my view; there is a time and a place...this forum is neither.

I think everyone should get off his @ss now that he has l taken some lashings, has refrained from snapping back at the snide comments obviously directed at him and is making far more useful/positive posts now.

That being said, I won't delete the thread in question, I think it serves as a reminder and warning that it is generally not welcome here and will be met with hostility by the admin, moderators and possibly users. If he can convince another admin or moderator to take action and remove it then more power to him.

Some fair points have been made on this post. I think most girls here agreeing to become a partner of an older foreigner to help provide for their families and themselves are knowingly making tremendous sacrifices. Even if there is a marriage their families will be always be number one. If they are treated respectfully, you may be fortunate enough to gain their affection over time. Be honest and trustworthy and they may be as well.

I didn't realise that this forum is a offshoot of the Mormons (and apologies to any genuine Mormons out there). I genuinely thought that the topics for discussion are open, without restriction and not subject to the sensitivities of some more conservative members. I don't personally like or agree with some post topics here, but I accept the views and just add mine when I feel there's something appropriate to say.

Maybe we need a list of what's not acceptable for posting so that we all understand.
No.1 - US politics (abhorrent to some)
No.2 - US Veteran chat (abhorrent to pacifists)
No. 3 - Discussions on one night stands
    etc etc

I'm being semi-flippant, but just using them to get the point across. The whole point on forum discussion is exchange of views for those interested in the topic or in possession of helpful information, isn't it?

    I don't know.
I was with this couple last night, Filipina / Aussie and he was telling me how they met. Rather cool story. He was 18, still fresh and on his dads computer doing some work. His dad left open a Phils dating site so he took a look and thought man these girls are cute so opened up a profile of his own.

Bang....he gets a hit from a girl his age, 18 years old and never talked with any other girls. A few months later went to Manila to meet her. Remember this due hasn't had a GF before. He also had never traveled overseas. Can you imagine how he felt?

11 years later they are married and still together, totally into each other and have 2 kids and a house in Perth.

Sure most of the time we have this big age gap but not always.

Read the forum rules. There is a place for US politics (which I created), there is a place for US veterans (of which I am one and the one who created that section on the forum) and conversations on one night stands are acceptable as long as it remains appropriate and no names or overly specific details are given. It's pretty common sense on what is acceptable on the later topic; Avoid being lewd, giving names and/or openly endorsing or encouraging sex trafficking/tourism. It's not that much of an ask and it is extremely common among message board rules. Let's not act like it is some outrageous thing that is being requested.

I own some sites that have from 900 members to one that has 6000+. I have always had to draw lines, so I agree with the Admins (always) as it's like being in their House and if I wished to patronize a site owner on how they should draw the line in the sand so to say........ I would at least send a private pm.

As one site is strictly Philippines promotion I too deal with (boner-heads) <my term BTW. If let to be a anything goes thread, it always turns out badly. Persons start naming names, places, details of such hookups, numbers, address etc etc. I have rules on my sites and so can any member that wants to create their own....... so applaud to the Admins, as I always LMAO when wingnuts get tightened up.

Added note. It is more respectful to pm an Admin if yah want to adust a few hairs...never get to ruffled IMHO..... Cheers!

But the vacuum you are leaving with your business model is that your competition can fill the boner-head void that you refuse to handle. That certainly is understandable if you have strong religious or aesthetic convictions. But the bonerheads will go somewhere and in the process, view those money-generating ads that help the big guy make profits that pay for the sites. In saying that, I never saw such sexpat dox activity on DI and I have been here for quite a few years. I really would be surprised to see sex-patronage (my term) in the future but DI is pretty big and perhaps can afford to ignore niche groups like that.

I might suggest in a friendly way you reconsider how it is you view your Customers (that your business depends on); calling your site’s Customers boner-heads and wingnuts that make you LMAO just doesn’t seem sustainable for later success, should competitors become interested in your audience. Your forum members may now have limited options for this old style format but they have long memories of admin treatment one way or the other. Already, forum popularity is way down and other social media models are way up.

Just a perspective from an old-style forum site customer to a site owner.
